Just done 2190 miles across Europe in mine including the Ring, various Alpine passes and kerbing it in Innsbruck! The average MPG for all of this? 37.2 and fun every single mile thumbup
37.2? frown I think my Z would get around 25mpg if I did the same trip!

70mph on several of the motorways certainly helped, but the amount of tyres I left behind screeching round the Alps will cancel the MPG out rofl

Thanks all smile.

I've done about 700 miles in it so far and I'm really enjoying it. Immensely fast but also handles rather well too!

Pretty economical, and the cruise control is excellent. So far, so good! smile.

I must say, I absolutely love cruise control - I'd not be keen on a car without it now! Can you get an MX5 with Cruise Control?

You'll definitely have to take me for a quick spin in it! To be honest, I'd wager it handles a lot better than my Z!

Right, so I've had the Clio for six weeks now...

It's cost me:
£580 for an auxilliary belt change, cambelt change and full service.
And in the next few weeks it'll cost me
£130 for a new rear wheel bearing (fitted)
£118.25 for 6 months tax
Two new tyres

I've done nearly 2,500 miles at an average of 33.5mpg, quite impressive given that I've been working loads of late and certainly don't hang around. That extra surge of power at 5,000rpm is SO addictive!

Anyway, here's a few gratuitous photos:

Sounds like you are enjoying the car! I'm up to almost 6k miles in mine and still loving every drive smile
Out of interest where did you get the aux/cambelt service done? I'm rapidly coming up to the big 72k mile mark and need to start shopping around for the best value and best quality service smile

Really enjoying it - it's a great laugh to drive. It's a bit jumpy on the motorway but exceptionally capable the rest of the time. I find myself coming off the motorway just as much as I did with the MX-5 and taking the A and B-road alternatives instead!

I had my service done at Birchdown (www.birchdown.com) who are in Malpas, Cheshire. They lent me their Kangoo van and I spend the day doing a load of jobs and visiting friends nearby that I'd saved up for that day. Exceptional service and they really know their stuff - the 120 mile round trip was on great roads and was really worth it. Renault quoted me over £1100 for cambelt and aux belt changes, plus another £200 for the service I wanted doing for peace of mind - so it was a no brainer! Better service, by people who care about and really know their stuff, for half the price near as damnit!

I hadn't considered Birchdown, but they'll certainly be going on the list with a review like that.
I don't find the 182 too bad on the motorway and it's quite a comfy place to be for a hot hatch!

Sorry I got quite carried away...

It's fine on the motorway and the seats are certainly a lot better for my back than the MX-5 was! However, my tracking is out and it needs two new tyres in another 1500 miles or so, so putting off getting that sorted so I can do it all in one go in the next few weeks - hopefully it will be fine after that!
