Looks lovely - the "ultimate" hot hatch I think. Concept taken as far as it can go...or is it too far?
Just out of interest though, what made you buy it? For me a hot hatch is about mixing practicality and comfort with a turn of speed and fun handling. If I was buying a lightweight, stripped out track car it'd have to be RWD, and probably a tad cheaper!

Thanks for the comments,
well a comparision with the DC2, the cars a very similar obviously the engine note from the integra probably gives you a better sensation for the "race car" experience and sounds more raw but handling in the megane is amazing and gives you great feedback similar to the integra would, the drive in the megane is much easier and the grip levels are unreal. As for driving on the road you can drive it much quicker than the integra/civic with less effort but that's the nature of the turbo engine.
The car us currently my only car I'm in the process of looking for a 2nd car but living with it everyday is fine for me as I'm single and have no kids etc. The seats and harness can be a pain but but it's something I've kinda got used to road ride is spot on just recently did a 2 hour + trip and felt fine. Some of the reasons for me getting it was because I didn't want the running costs of some of the rwd cars I was looking at m3 csl old 911 evo mr 320 etc also the csl was still out of my price range as I may of even got one. But for a new car price I thought it was reasonable for the performance you get. I also love the fact it's limited an always like to own something different.
I hope all this reads ok as it was written on my mobile phone appologies in advance if it doesn't

Very nice. It's an incredibly desirable piece of kit to have originated with a humble hatch back. Going to be following these with interest on the secondhand market. ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
£12850 for a 57 plate on autotrader. ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

I don't mean to be flippant - I know they've always been decent cars - I just don't remember the earlier ones having quite the same legendary reputation. Has it been a gradual evolution, or was there a particular model where the fast Meganes became such a force to be reckoned with?

Was just about to ask if Top Gear was over-reacting how complicated the harness is. Lovely car in a great colour.
Don't suppose I'll ever actually take the plunge but, out of curiosity, when did the Megane become good? ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

If you go on the Renault website and check the heritage bit you'll get the idea. The megane ph1 225 wasn't a great success. It wasn't ahem stiff enough and you couldnt disconnect the TCS. once the CUP model came out the rest was history.
I had 2 R26's as company cars and currently have 2 new and 1 used R26R. They really are special given renault is a mass production company.
Anyone who owns one really does have a bit of kit there!

Nice choice! Ive had mine two weeks now and I dont mind saying..im in love.
This really is one special piece of kit. I can see how it can be difficult for somepeople to understand how it can be so good afterall it is 'just' a megane. So far a quick pax has done the trick and left people a little taken a back. I had a supercharged exige for 2 years befor buying the .R and the .R is more fun to drive.
Heres a couple of mine for good measure.
