Dont "back to black" the wheel arch trims ! There is a much better solution if you're brave enough.

Use a hot air paint stripper gun thingy to blow hot air onto the plastic and simply watch it turn black as new before your eyes. You need to be careful you dont waft the hot air onto the paintwork but it really does work. I was dubious to start with but the end result on our corsa shed was remarkable.

I also use ASDA black shoe cleaner to keep them looking good. Its in a gold bottle and has an in-built spounge at the top.

Having used the hot air trick 2 years ago, it requires a 6 monthly top-up with the black shoe shine.
Yeah, I have just sen a video for this on youtube so I have asked my dad to do it as I dont trust myself hehe
Could you post us the link to said video please?

Don't bother with the hot air gun either, too much hassle, and you run the risk of melting the trim. I've heard peanut butter works a treat - In fact, I think there was thread on here recently about it

peanut butter ?! you might as well use oil. less peanut.

I always used armour-all on my nova SR, less slimey and longer lasting than back to black

If you take that much care valeting the car wouldn't it be better to do the bumpers and arches properly The way I always do bumpers is (esp corsa's) is go to local motor factors take the car there get them to chip the colour of the glovebox lid two spray cans are enough cost no more than £20 below is one I did a while ago Before and after pics

Unless you use the right primer, the effect is temporary...

Yes you are correct forgot to mention I used a plastic primer isolator only a fiver for a 600ml aerosol plenty for the whole car, If using this primer though don't use heat as it dries in minutes (clear plastic primer the best)with the plastic primer it last's for years, thumbup that car I did was a few years ago it still looks like it did when first painted
