Thanks for all the comments guys!

Spoke to my mate last night he said he pays £1240 fully comp but its in his mums name doesn't receieve any ncb.
And likely won't get any payout from insurance company if he crashes it!

But he drives it most of the time?

Exactly, fronting is still fronting.

All it means is that if he crashes it, and the insurance company find out (and let's face it, they'll be suspicious) then they wont pay his part of the claim and may chase him, or mum, for any 3rd party damages.

Its important you do, a close neighbour (a girl) Sarah- had her mum as the main driver on a new Corsa, she crashed, almost killed someone and now the whole family is in deep trouble cause Sarah is the registered keeper of the vehicle whilst her Mother is the main driver, there are so many ins and outs its terrible... Her Father who works in Italy has had to fly back from his high-paid company job, at this rate they are lucky they have financial backing but others might not be so fortunate.

That looks very nice, nothing too overstated. I can't say I'm quite as devoted to keeping mine clean!

The insurance on my 172 is a pain. I'm 24, living in a 'A' band postcode, 7000 miles per year, both my girlfriend and mum as named drivers, 1yr ncb (was on a the parents policy before on a different car) and the cheapest policy I could find last year was £919, luckily this year it has dropped to £624...

Lovely car. I still miss my 182.

Thanks! The cup models are awesome, I was going to get one with mine but on the 182 you only get basic interior no half leather/alcantra, no air con, xenon lights etc. I know its all extra weight but as stated above I drive 40 miles a day so need something comfy since its my daily
You could get the cup pack as an option on the 'full fat' 182.
