No, it won't. As a modified car, it won't have the same exemption a factory car would, and therefore will have to be IVAd. Anything IVAd gets a Q-reg.The car you imported two years ago was before the IVA was in force.

As long as they had the original registration documents they were able to get an age related plate

I do like the style of the flames in your render, realistic looking flames work best, rather than 'stylized' flames, IMHO. I do prefer it with the 50's pinstripes rather than the flame-job, though.(I'd also stick on some white walls and small moon hub caps, but that's beside the point.. )
