As long as the OP is happy with it, what does it matter whether it's anyone elses kettled of boiled rat?

I can't see the value in buying a mid-range repmobile and putting £25k of tat into it, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't have done it.

So is that that 50k for the 27k car plus the airfix bits or does one of those cost 50k for just the car where you live?
I thought that they used to be on my old company car list and that had a limit of £30K

Because he asked what people think of it.

The total cost of the project (car + modding) was circa £50k

I can see what you were going for and as someone else said it does look like it was well executed. But for that kind of budget there are a lot of options. You could have got an almost new M5 for that or a brand new M3 with every extra going, insurance and some change. If you like bling you could have got a couple of year old Range Rover Sport with some nice wheels etc.

Interior looks ok. I like the seats (except for the stars on the headrest)

Dont really like cosmetic mods though, not yours in particular, just in general. I'd rather plough however many thousand you spend on the exterior and 'ICE' into the engine bay then leave it looking like a stock Diesel.

Whatever floats your boat though. At least the standard of work seems pretty high.

ETA - LOL Just read what you spent didnt know it was a 50k package eek......

Could have got an Aston V8 vantage / DB9
a 2010 RR sport
An RS6
Bentley Flying Spur
Jag XKR (supercharged)
Caterhams galore......

The price of a very nice 2007 Aston vantage V8 Roadster with a great spec, for example?

Oh dear god.

yikes

Each to their own I suppose, but I can't think of anything more ridiculous. 2nd hand M5's are half that!

Yep. I can see why someone would want a diesel saloon with bits stuck on instead of this. I really can.

Serious question and not in malice just curious,

Any reason why you would choose to spend 50K on that car rather than by this?>>

Yeah, I had hoped to finish off with an engine swap for a 'souped-up' Supra 2JZ engine (tuned up to 500bhp+), but unfortunately I blew my budget lol :-(

And to be honest, I struggled to find a garage to do it anyway!

Not to worry... That could maybe be a future project for someone else I suppose.

looks like Car audio centre saw you coming with the ICE install sadly - personally i would have avoided inphase and db-audio entirely, three 12's in sealed enclosures wont play all that well into a salon cabin as the cabins are usually pretty well sealed off from the boot area, you would have been better using two and firing them towards the back seats/through the ski hatch sealed off from the boot meaning that all the sound is going into the cabin. Also the 6x9's in the boot firing out i dont really see the point of - same with the powercap they generally harm a charging system more than they help

And yes considering what is in my project log in members cars it sound very hypocritical that i am criticizing an ICE install but this is not nasty it is supposed to be constructive advice on how to improve the install for the drivers enjoyment

BTW i hope the car has had a good few layers of sound-deadening to stop it sounding like arse outside
