Bentley Turbo R Track Car!
Discussion
Have to say that after seeing, hearing and meeting this creation (and it's creator) at Goodwood earlier this year, I cam only say what utter respect I have for it and him.
My lasting memory of the day was seeing him return covered in water after the reservoir feeding the brake cooling "let go"!!!
Top work and keep it up...

That is absolutely epic - well done V8 FOU. You are as your username suggest, but I love that!
All the best and please send post up some videos of the Flying B in track day action.

Well, I have a V8 R/Rover and Big Block '56 GMC van, F350 7.3 Powerstroke truck plus the Bentley, oh a V8 Mustang on order too.....
Can't have enough V8's in the garage!
Paul - I only saw this thread from the mention on the PH front page, but over the past couple of days I've read through it all, and I think what you're doing is inspired.
I'm sorry to hear about your accident, and I can't imagine how tough the last few years must have been, but bloody hell you've channelled your energies into something brilliant!
I'm a PPC subscriber and I love this kind of mad idea!
Well done, and keep up the great work!

Poor thing is sitting there looking a bit unloved at the mo'. Trans rebuilt, cooler to help prevent that happening again. Carbon fibre bonnet vents fitted. The carbon fibre roof goes on soon. Removed the hevac and fitting a small American one. HiSpec are going to make some 8-pot callipers and big discs soon.
Various other things as time/money allows. Looking for further weight reduction, then an Emerald ECU for a bit more power.

So an update and thread revival.....
New Year means for a lot of us it's time for a diet. So it is for the Bentley.
Start with cutting off the roof panel (seriously)
prepped for the glue for the carbon fibre panel
That's 20kg saved!
Now, removal of the brass door handles at 4kg the set!
8kg of wiring from here, so far.....
There's about 10kg of ecu's , door locks and actuators too.
I am looking at replacing the door frames (solid brass) with alloy too. The key barels were just under a kilo the pair - yes, solid brass again!!
Hoping to remove at least 100kg this time and more when I replace the 4 front calipers with alloy ones, plus alloy bells for the discs. Should be able to fit 360mm brakes from Hi Spec.
There's a new Racetech dash coming - that'll save a kilo or so.
This is getting serious! To replace the door handles I am making plastic push buttons, so they'll weigh about 3 parts of f all. The rear screen and rear door windows are plastic. I want to keep the front electrics for road use/ The HEVAC is out, but I have a small American one to go in as this car REALLY needs a/c.
The active ride is now disconnected as it will default to the stiffest setting, and the self levelling will go too as there isn't much weight in the back! Apparently, Bilstein make front shox for the non active ride SZ series, so that sounds good - even at £250 each. I havent weighed the car for a while, but with all the current work I am hoping for a weight of around 17/1800kg. I think the roof and door stuff should make a huge difference due to being high. Pendulum effect etc.
More soon!!
