I appreciate there are a few of them and I certainly wouldn't buy a car from someone who had owned it for two minutes but I think their may be a couple dirty diamonds lurking in there. Forums are always a good shout as well
Completely agree - although they always seem to appear when you have zero disposable cash or are too busy to go looking at cars. I missed out on an E36 on ebay that had almost no rust for £450. It has loads of MOT left and although was only a 1800cc it looked lovely. I still kick myself over that one as I have a thing for pre-2000's BMW's.

Loving this concept!

About the PAS pump, I think they take Pentosyn CHF-11S, also known as Central Hydraulic fluid.

If the fluid is bad, the filter will also be. On the Mondeo, the reservoir has the filter. I'd advise to buy a new one, but on your budget, I'd remove the reservoir and back flush it to get the worse of the crap out.

My Mondeo pump whined like crazy until I did the above in addition to a flush on the system.

I’ve made pretty good progress diagnosing this -the steering angle sensor circuit is the main source of pain.

There is a completely unrelated YouTube video available here https://youtu.be/pNBVuqMHeV0

That video is a good watch Toastie. I quite like your manner If I’m honest, easily ‘watchable’

A decent bit of diagnostic advice for wiring. I too have been guilty of chucking a sensor at a problem to then find a frayed wire! Nice one.

The app you were using with the obd2 reader, what was it? Given your nationality one can imagine it’s cheap or free which is my kind of price. hehe

It’s a clone DS150E (you can buy them on Amazon/eBay) - not the most legitimate thing in the world....

Very useful mind.

Thanks. I bought one of those and always struggled getting the dodgy virus riddled software working on my quarantined laptop.

Might have to dig it out and try a bit harder

It’s worth persevering with - very useful kit that can get you out of trouble with most cars

What an utterly mad thing to do, I like it! I'm sure there will be some interesting stuff out there that will fit the bill over the next 12 months.

Watched a few of the youtube videos, looks like good content and a promising channel. Watching with interest.

Thanks! thumbup I am hoping the cars will get more interesting / wallet-dangerous as time goes on! Slow burner.

Next one isn’t much more interesting but it is a car that is much maligned despite being from rated provenance and it is scruffy / broken, so perfect, I think biggrin

Just got around to watching the 1st Vlog. Can I suggest you put something immediately above the centre of the camera lens for something to aim your eyes at? Not being rude, just with the vid you seemed focussed (excuse the pun) off to one side of it. apart from that, enjoyed it a lot and I'm off to watch ep 2 smile

Thanks for the feedback - I think it’s because my camera has a flip-out screen that sits to the side of the lens, I’ll maybe try leaving it folded shut!

Absolutely is. When I was testing gear in my old job (TV OBs) I'd see that I'd focus on the screen as naturally you want to keep an eye on how you're going. I'd say go for it, keep the screen away and have confidence in yourself, you're doing great. Now I want ep3, hurry up eBay/Gumtree/Local Scrappy/AliExpress smile

Shame it was as poor as Mike Brewer's attempt to be any good at presenting TV wink

(Nice bloke IRL, just does some poor shows)
