I was really bloody curious as to what the new thing was!

Quite surprised it turned out to be this, mind you I dunno what I was expecting hehe

My best mate has the 2.0 Coupe, and I have to say, in terms of coping with potholes and road imperfections, it is one of the best cars I've ever driven.

Is it the V6 or the "better handling" 2.0?

Either way....ohhh red and shiny. lick
Come on, if I've got to sacrifice the handling and responsiveness of the the 306, it wasn't going to be for the 2 litre...hehe

Weight saving is going to be high on the list too, there's a shedload to be lost just in 4 new seats I reckon.

All jokes aside... Looking forward to the build thread for this one!

Assume there is a ton (probably literally) of weight to be saved out of that big boy!

I'm genuinely tempted but I'm still waiting to drive P4cks' Clio Williams I bought! Two cars when I am living 5,000 miles away would be excessive!

I do want a restored 205 GTi and a 306GTi6/Rallye in the stable though!

I just love the way you build your cars with your home-brew solutions!

Get the new build thread up ASAP please, I'm bored at work!

Say what you will, it's much prettier than a 306! smile

Great looking car, looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Plugs, oil and cambelt are the first jobs this weekend.
Then spare K&N filter from the buggy spares, and spend a week listening to it go 'BWAAARPPPP'

Yes I bet it also sounds good!

Is there anything that can be done engine performance wise? I vaguely remember reading something about the (later?) V6s being somewhat strangled by emission controls.

Yeah, the later ones had reworked heads with VVC, but were strangled by 4 cat converters.
This one is rudely healthy according to the dyno down the road though biggrin

Be even healthier when the tube bender swings into action for a new exhaust wink

Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!

I have a sad feeling that this means the rear suspension setup that I've been pestering you about is no longer going to be developed........

Well, make it match the 306 for feedback and agility is the aim...

Okay, it's clean, shiny, and even has blacked tyre walls.

There's something I haven't bothered with for years.
That variable steering rack is going to meet my Makita cordless though shortly....and so are those Brembo's.

The brakes aren't as sharp/feelsome as the 266's on the 306. Plenty of power mind.
