Jaguar F-Pace Non Runner

I have the same symptoms currently on my XC90 - turned it off on Thursday fine but then it wouldn't crank yesterday morning. On that model the typical culprit is the electrically actuated steering lock module. Unfortunately the car is somewhat immobilised (eBrake + auto box) until resolved!

Happened to my daughters XC90. autobox etc. Was craned off to a Volvo guy in Essex who was spot on with the diagnosis as Volvo were clueless about the issue . Its very common.Just on the fraud thing, it's still worth reporting even though you've made the engine work, you don't know how many other cases other people have lodged and the more ammunition the fraud team have the better, you may also get some money back.
Many many years back, I purchased a 306 GTi-6 which decided to dump it's entire oil contents on the M1 when the sump plug fell out. Cut a long story short, a breakers sent me videos/pictures of a running 306 GTi-6 and sent me that engine (so they claimed) except when the engine turned up it was an XSI engine. They told me, "Honest mistake but you can use your head on that bottom end, it'll be fine". I told them to collect the engine and supply the correct one, they said no problem then I never heard from them again, ignored all calls from me. I managed to source another engine, got it fitted and pursued it through the courts where it turns out many other people had the same problem with this breakers. I got my money back in full and they never collected the XSI engine.

On my TVR, this was the immobiliser cutting in for no particular reason. Lock and unlock cleared it.
On my Saab it was a sensor that told the car when the gear lever was in park or neutral, so safe to start.
Swore at it, slammed the lever back and forwards a few times, gave up, was about to get out and walk and thought "I'll just try it one last time" and it started

Is there any way we can do a GoFundMe page and buy this car from Escy? We could then take it to a field and have the following purchase options
1)£10 throw a brick at the car
2)£20 one hit with a sledge hammer
3)£50 attack it with a can of brake cleaner and a lighter
4)£500 one hit with the bucket of a JCB
5)£1000 a gallon of E10 and a box of matches

I'm tempted to sell my own car to fund this. 1)£10 throw a brick at the car

I reckon if you left it in that field unattended for 5 minutes it would probably set itself on fire without any assistance.1)£10 throw a brick at the car

Sorry to read another bad update so soon. Although we all admire your perseverance, this thing seems genuinely cursed. Please make your life easier Escy.
