They were from ebay, I'm not sure if I can post the link - but in the search bar put 'Porsche 996 bonnet boot release level stickers decals' and you'll find them.shalmaneser said:

There may well be but I'm not sure to be honest. Where it attaches to the handle, theres just an eyelet on the end of the cable which then has a screw through it and the handle to attach the two together!J.C... said:

Couple more updates on the old boy, it spent a few weeks at a mates getting some work done.
All calipers refinished in gloss silver.
Front and Rear Arbs repainted (the front in particular was hanging!) and rebushed.
Handbrake sorted for the 3rd time in my ownership haha!
Sideskirt resecured on the drivers side.
All starting off with a picture of my mate underneath having a good time...

Tiny update, annual service completed which was just a basic oil & filter this time round. I've gone back to 10W-50 having run it for 0W-40 the past two years at the advice of those in the know (forum folk, hartech, my specialist). This has resulted in a slight increase of oil pressure when hot which is nice during these summer months, particularly as the last weekend I went out for a long drive with a mates E30, and at times the oil pressure at idle was closer to 1 bar than the usual 1.5 bar in the 996. Its now sat at 2 bar at hot idle.
Also the bloody bonnet & roof keep fading in the sun, I need a garage/carport. Must work harder!

Is that the Millers nano stuff? I might swap to this at the next oil change as well (currently on Shell Helix 5W-40) after reading plenty about it.
Shame it's twice the price!

Thats the stuff, Millers Nanodrive NT+. Everyone seems to recommend it, so I'm happy to go for it to keep things as happy as possible in my potentially fragile M96 engine. It is expensive though, even on sale with Opie oils it was £130 for the oil! If I'd gone with Castrol edge it would have been around half the price.Is that the Millers nano stuff? There is indeed, I learnt this while shopping - the more expensive one is I think NT+, with the red label. I reckon (hope) they're both decent at the price point though!CornedBeef said:

Its officially been 3 years since I bought it, and by my count I've done about 14000 miles in her now - capped off by a recent trip up through the valleys of Wales to Snowdonia. Properly lovely place to drive, the Northern half in particular was all A/B roads with not very much traffic at all Its been a bit of a small year for work on the car which has saved me some pennies, the first two years were probably around £1k-1.5k in work. This year I'd say its been around £200 in fixing things, and about £500 in tarting things up. My daily on the other hand has cost around £1.5k instead this year. I've had some new clips for the passenger door to stop it rattling for about 3 months which I still can't bring myself to install - no excuses really! I'm just thoroughly enjoying driving it, it still puts a grin on my face each drive after these 3 years - and that feeling of excitement before each drive. Can't recommend them more really!
Currently broken and laid up on the driveway after a bit too much excitement at Thruxton. My other half booked me on to an hour on the skidpan for my birthday, which was great fun (recommend it to anyone!) for about 20 minutes, then there was a groan from the engine bay and the steering went heavy too much excitement for the old girl. On inspection, the PS reservoir had gone empty and when refilled - lots of green hydraulic fluid falls out in the region of the steering rack.
Oh dear! Its likely that the copper lines around the rack have gone from a bit of reading, its going in to my mechanic this Saturday. The PS pump has probably been killed in the process, I had to drive it back to our BNB and then an hour home the next day. I might just bung a used one on there for £60.

I need to get on and book a skidpan session at Thruxton which I was given for Christmas last year. It should be great fun - I'm sorry that your car let you down!Update time! So the repair saga on the power steering failure is ongoing, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I booked it in with my local mechanic to take a look, and he confirmed that it was unfortunately the high pressure power steering line which runs the length of the car that failed. The low pressure return line going the length of the car back was intact, but looking tired too.
Conversely, the cheap copper lines on the rack itself that I'd prayed were the cause - clean as a whistle! Naturally.
So I sent it over to Angus at AMS, who I always recommend. He looked up the prices for both of the pipes, £562 for the high pressure line and £294 for the return line. Jesus Christ says I, thats just Porsche ownership says everyone else But I suppose it is what it is, and Angus goes to order to parts. The next nightmare rears its head, the high pressure line is on back order until January! This prompted a bit of scratching around at alternatives, and a hydraulic lines specialist named Pirtek came up in various conversations. I emailed them, and they're happy to make the part up for me for far less - result. Angus is going to whip it off this week and take it down there to be blueprinted and made.
Hopefully then we're back on the road - in the meantime shes tucked away with some good company.
