Can’t anyone post the ad link? Is that permitted?
It's fine for the OP to add a link to their PH classifieds listing within their own Reader's Cars thread.

Here it is: https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/14642064

Thanks JeremyC, I wasn't sure. I have had a few emails already which is promising. I was going to list on Autotrader and Ebay, they both involve fees, so whilst I have some interest via PH I will hang fire.

I will message my mechanic chap tomorrow morning to get it booked in for the anti-roll bar link joint thing which means it's currently making a knocking noise over bumps, so it'll all be sorted prior to sale.

If only there had been an estate/shooting brake version of the LS!

Always loved these, and miss my LS... if it wasn'r for the large number of dogs I would have had this off you in an instant!

Deposit has been put down for an E90 M3 saloon. I'm viewing it Thursday and providing it's as described and doesn't have any issues etc then it will be mine on Thursday. Fingers crossed!

This is the car.

Obviously I'll be sure to do a reader's ride thread. The first job will be the rod bearings which I've factored in.

Love the colour. Good luck with it!

They are part-exchanging it at £5k. I could have got a bit more privately, but advertised at £6k, I expected £5400-5500, so £5k to remove the hassle of dealing with the public and significantly speeding up the process.....I'll take that.

Oh wow that's a change from the old man Lexus, that engine is something we'll never ever see again. Could you have picked two V8s more different in character?!

I think £5k PX is very reasonable for the LS, I wouldn't be arsed dealing with mouthbreathers to make another £500 or so either. Really looking forward to hearing how the M3 goes, and possibly seeing it at a barge meet sometime.

After my dad sold his M3 at the end of 2012 I have lusted after one ever since. The engine is an absolute masterpiece, and I'm stoked to be getting my own.

In other news I just had an offer from someone on my Facebook advert for the LS460. They were generous enough to offer £2500 laugh

Did you also negotiate on the M3, Ross?

Yes, but they wouldn't budge much at all. To be honest, can't blame them, looking at saloons online it is actually around the price of private sellers, but comes with 3 month's warranty, so I think the price seems fair.

Having another ganders at the ad, a few things strke me...

- it's absolutely gorgeous, I love the carbon fibre arms on the floating. body coloured mirror housing

- it's on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres which may be old and may be unsuitable for all year driving in lower temperatures (it was mentioned by Pooky in Harry's recent Project8 vid that the Cup 2s on their vehicles are replaced annually) -- go to 20:42 not working below, for some reason.

- there's a service due in November 2023. Would you either bring it forward to coincide with the planned rod bearings work due, according to your self-imposed deadline, on 3 June 2023, or would you push the work back to coincide with the service?

I haven't looked, are you sure they're cup 2s and not just ps2s? Harry's were fine until he had them pointed out. I'm sure they'll be fine, and it'll soon be warming up anyway.

No, I'll just do the rod bearings, which means it'll get an oil change but I see no point in doing other work unnecessarily early.
