Thanks for those contributing to this thread (and despite the issues encountered) I've just ordered an X5 45e M Sport with a September delivery estimate smile

Need to confirm the colour and spec but I'll probably just add the sun protection windows and choose either Arctic Grey or Phytonic Blue. We have a black LR5 so I can't deal with another dirt magnet!

Done a business lease direct with BMW as all have come back within a few £ per month on the price. My Q5 goes back mid-September so the timing is spot on, I probably wouldn't have looked until it was too late if I'd not read this thread.
Can you share some details on the finance? Asking for a fellow director (not so powerfully built, but more than me!).

I contacted Stratstone as it’s my local BMW. 3+35 with 8k miles at £572+ vat on a business lease. They have been really responsive today actually.

Thanks - what BIK % does the 45e attract?

Probably about £75k with the tech pack and comfort pack. Sunroof is £2.5k as well.

That's a decent deal. Is servicing additional?

IIRC if your personal contribution exceeds the BIK value then you don't pay much if any BIK either at that rate smile

(That might change because I think the BIK rate per tax year was increasing by 1% a year from 2020?)

Yes, it’s not a maintained deal.

Okay, so that's £550 for the car (8k mileage), I estimate c.£150 per month based on 6% of the list at £75k, x35%ish of higher income tax rate/12. Additional is servicing, so about £750-£800 pcm in total, which is good - though I imagine that the servicing costs are picked up by the business...

Yes, though it’s a family business so will be my wife’s company car as she’s part time and not in the 40% tax band. So the tax will be lower. Maintenance costs will be invoiced to the business, I might take a service pack if they offer it for the 3 years but will depend on the cost. If there’s no benefit over just doing pay as you go servicing I won’t bother.

We have a charging point at work but trying to get BMW to put me a home charger in as well for free.

They have also offered a hire car if the build date doesn’t meet my current car going back, can’t imagine it will be sparkling but it will get me to work and back while I wait.

Ashamed to say this...

But where is the motor on the X5?
Between the engine and gear box?
Is it full time 4x4 ?

I ordered my X5 45e M Sport as a business lease from Partridge BMW almost 2 months ago.

Was originally told early Q2 delivery but it looks like that is out the window! I've been chasing regularly and the answer I received yesterday was:

"There is no movement on the delivery thus far

We are waiting on the factory allocating build slots to the various cars we have at status 047 (an ordered vehicle without build date) We are hounding them to confirm yours as well as a number of others.

We are unsure at the moment if it is a bigger issue than supply vs demand but that is not clear currently."

Bit of a worry really as my current lease ends in May with no option to extend!

It might be worth asking BMW what they can do in the interim if there is a gap between he arrival of the X5 and the departure of your current lease?

What's a good spec for a young family on the 45e? I think that it's a go-er for a fellow director, but BMW are clever in bundling up things like rear side airbags in with packages that would otherwise be dismissed.

The basic package is pretty good, I think the tech pack is worth going for as that gives a few more bells and whistles. (and there rear seat tablet prep)

Still no update from Partridge BMW and my current vehicle is off lease after next month. Not ideal!

I'll not hold my breath for my September date then?!

On the plus side I'll just send my current lease back when it ends and use a works van but still pay myself my current allowance until the X5 arrives. BMW did say that they'd provide me with a car if the build date slips, I don't believe them.

Is this down to demand, or a backlog caused by the problems last year I wonder?
