Just read the whole thread from start to finish. Absolutely gutting. I’m so sorry for the loss of Rolf.
Was looking at you routes through the Pyrenees with interest as my gf and I rode through in October last year. A friend who we stayed with lives in Vielha which you would have travelled through to get up to the ski resort. I have very similar picture as you but with my Triumph…
Just to add to the weirdness, seeing you say a Norfolk trip, I was naturally curious being based here myself. Your in laws live a 2 minute walk from my gfs parents. Spooky!
If ever you find yourself this way again and want some Norfolk roads to explore, just shout.
I really hope you manage to get a replacement sorted for Rolf very soon. I suppose in a way, happy (unplanned) car hunting.
Might be worth keeping an eye on eBay for various easily identifiable parts :/ - if you even want to that is.
Terrible to hear the story of the theft after enjoying the trip write ups....however I wish the OP much Cayman joy on the next one, let us know how they compare.....Was looking at you routes through the Pyrenees with interest as my gf and I rode through in October last year. Thanks again for all the love on this thread! I've started a new one for the Cayman here:

It’s been a while since I’d caught up with your adventures in the R8; absolutely gutted to head about the scum bags stealing it.
It’s a horrible feeling knowing that some lowlife has been in your house (we were burgled a few years ago for my mountain bikes)l
Good news that the insurance paid out….hopefully it won’t be long before you’re having a road trip adventure in the Cayman.

Loads of luggage space! A soft skinny Eastpak wheely and a cabin-max backpack on the shelf behind the seats (doesn't impact rear or blindspot views) and then a smaller Eastpak soft cabin wheely in the frunk with shoes, oil, spare coats etc. We packed clothes for nine days this trip.
Apologies for the thread resurrection. I'd send you a message but they aren't enabled. As someone who is buying a V10 manual R8 in a few months and planning several road trips, reading your thread was extremely helpful and very informative.
Your luggage solution is the most comprehensive I've seen, I thought you'd be able to fit bags behind the seats but hadn't seen anyone actually do it.
Would you be able to share the specific model of bag you bought that fitted please? I searched for the soft skinny but didn't seem to be able to find it.
Such a shame it ended the way it did.

Make sure you start a thread and ping me back here. I've been looking at V10s occasionally too...

Sure thing, I love these Eastpak bags. This is the tall one we used behind the seats - it also works really well behind the engine in the Porsche too.

Obviously it depends on how far back the seats are, but I'll be fitting buckets so I should be sorted.
I will start a thread and post here.
