That's pretty poor that they can't even look at it for 6 weeks. What if it wasn't driveable, would you be expected to be carless for 6 weeks, courtesy car an option?
Everything is 6 weeks minimum in car world now. When my LPG was playing up that was the standard wait between visits. He will likely take it in and they will diagnose the fault. They will then rebook an appointment for the work likely another 6 weeks away.

Dacia dealers are poor based on my experience (to be fair of one). I advised what my issue was (car in warranty), sent pictures and stated that it was a common issue (according to other owners). The dealer sent me straight to a Ford and Mazda bodyshop in their network. I said no way (they’d do something daft and try charging me). Car correctly booked in via Dacia U.K. and when I turn up the tech (with me for 5 mins) said he knows exactly what it is and that he’ll get it booked in and that he’s done a handful. The techs maybe okay (he was) but the non tech staff not so much.

If you want a courtesy car, it's an 8 weeks wait.

I expect exactly this, even though I said please order in an injector so that if that is what's wrong, you can replace the part the same day.

The lady I spoke to said they would do this, but obviously I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Based on the rusty steel wheels post earlier I decided to carry out a bit of preventative work on my steelies!

I removed all four and thoroughly cleaned and dried.

The rust seems to emanate from the seam where they are welded and the pic shows below the crevice where it can begin

I got some Bilt Hamber Dynax UC clear and sprayed into the seam and allowed it to settle in, then wiped off the excess

And 'whilst I was there.. I sprayed the main chassis components and nuts etc to ward of rust over winter

Good work, let us know if it keeps the rust at bay. Sadly mine are too far gone for that.

Thanks, yeah will do. In theory if moisture can't get in then it should be all good.

I'm only planning keeping it for 12 months so it should see me right.

Have you tried the warranty route? I certainly would at least let them know/lodge the complaint.

THey either need replacing or a full, strip, dip and repaint - not a sand down and blow in by the dealerships man in a van type as it'll be back in no time.

I will be trying a warranty claim, just pondering whether to wait for the next service in January. Or take deep breath and deal with the dealership now.

My drivers door has just started chewing the door seal.

Will leave it until I can stomach booking it into the dealer.

Mine did that. Replaced under warranty no problem. Modified seal design fitted and no reoccurrence.

Mine is booked in once Dacia U.K. persuaded the dealer it didn’t need to go to their Ford/Mazda bodyshop. Once I got to show the car to a sensible tech he instantly knew what the issue was and said he’d seen a handful of Dusters with this issue although worryingly said the usual fix was trimming the damaged area with a razor blade! In my case too mangled and a new seal and door adjustment required.

Just back from its first MOT. Those 3 years have flown by.

I’m a bit frustrated with mine today.

For the 3rd time it’s going to have to go back to the Dealer to have the fan blower fixed under Warranty. It’s exactly the same issue as the previous 2 times in that it will blow on full demist setting but not 1, 2 or 3.

It probably has another 6 months of the original 3 year warranty left so I’m sure they will sort it.. again.. but it does seem a proper built-in fault.

I wonder how much the repair would cost out of warranty balanced against how much it is to extend the warranty for when it needs done again.

Other than that it has been fine.

The fan blower fault is a weird one. People that have it often seem to suffer with over and over, whereas some never have trouble. I wonder if some other fault with the fan overloads the resister.

The part (resistor pack) is available for a few £s, fitting involves removing the glove box so not arduous.

I think its the thermal fuse that burns out, probably replace that for pennies.

The last time I had to buy a resistor pack it was £10.

Probably a bit more these days. Them failing is an indication of an underlying problem IMO. A sticking fan drawing too much current would be my first guess. Restricted air flow from a clogged filter would be my next guess.

The fan in mine goes faster or slower depending on speed of the engine...

Some sort of poor regulation I guess.
