I've been enjoying this thread for three years now and would have put an offer in had it been a +2 given the recent posts. Someone's going to get lucky with this one if you do sell.

I dont miss the evora one bit.. too many other nice cars to enjoy.. that do a much better job of giving me pleasure in ownership
Odd...I went from a 2002 Elise with 135bhp to a 2010 Evora and never looked back. I did more miles in 2 months in the Evora than I did in 2 years in the Elise.

A sunny B-road with no traffic? Elise. Everything else? The Evora. I just found that the Evora was 95% as much fun but infinitely more usable. Goes to show that everyone is different, but I don't think I could go back to an Elise after the Evora.

Honestly I love that. All I think about when I walk past the evora is a) is it charged and b) is there a vxt that’s better

Irrespective of whether its an Evora or any other marque, I really do think the issue is once you have owned an Elise/Exige, you quickly find dull almost anything else, particularly if you aren't necessarily needing the refinement/longer distance requirement.

The fact that another poster said he moved on from the Evora to a Caterham says something to me; about the only car even more buzzy/fun than an Elise/Exige and partly because its that one step further to impracticality that also tends to slide the fun scale whilst reducing usability.

I did find my Evora a wonderful car but in my memory bank, the fun car I yearn for is my old Elises/Exige. The fact is my usage changed and with most of the drives in an Elise/Exige wouldn't suit it. Long GT drives where its at the opposite of its sweet spot.

Like the post above I also did a lot of miles in it. Multiple 2/3k mile trips to Europe and weekend trips. But it became 'too usable' and just so happened other hobbies have taken priority. So when I do go out I want it to be so exciting and learn to be a better driver and feel at one with it - which a caterham delivers, in spades. I thought it was hardcore then I put on aeroscree and we are at a whole new level smile

What actually sealed it was following other lotus through some bends and realizing how much more nible they were (340r and 2-11, elise) and that was it for me.

Bored, having been stuck in the house with covid, I set about fixing something that's always annoyed me:

Before:

Some contact adhesive and some time later:

A year on, I'm still waiting for the passenger side window regulator and been waiting two months for the cruise control button too. No ETA as yet

5 or so years of ownership which has been great. I've not been using it nearly as much as it deserves so I've decided to sadly and reluctantly put it up for sale.

Ah ok. Had read a few of your previous posts regarding a Gallardo and was considering similar myself. Had my Vantage for 5 years after the Evora and its time for something new.

The Gallardo idea went out of the window as soon as I saw the Emira!

Ha ha - same here! I am just not sure if I can stomach being without a toy as I think it will be 2023 before I get my Emira. Tempted to have another Exige in the interim but its just so limiting for GT trips.

Aye I know what you mean. I'm not expecting to be in an Emira for about 3 or 4 years, so in the meantime I'll just have a nice daily and the Clio for weekends.

Having driven the Evora again today I don't think I'm going to sell it... went toward the car wash to get it clean to photograph it but ended up turning around!

To be honest I can't see you will lose much, if anything, on an Evora of that vintage if you keep hold of it until the Emira order is ready. Plus it might be an easy PX with lotus being in the brand already.

Funnily enough I am also considering a Clio (albeit only a 182 or similar) as a cheap bit of fun to quash my car buying temptation and to rag about.

I've been using my Evora as a daily for the last year and while I do love it, I find I'm doing a lot of motorway miles which isn't its natural habitat. Also traffic. Heavy clutch is starting to get on my nerves so I'm thinking I ought to get a more sensible commuter. I don't really do sensible though so I'm bound to get something massively inappropriate again. But yeah I'm slightly bored of it now only because I'm not really using it for what it was meant for.

Genuinely, get a shed as a daily and keep the Evora as a weekend car. I couldn't imagine dailying one (and that's from someone who dailyed a VX220 and soon got very bored)

Halle-fking-lujah I've finally go the cruise control back. Initially I thought it was related to the (now repaired) steering angle sensor and then it stopped working again so then changed the harness and no success so finally got round to fitting the new switch... and it's worked!

hi mate, I remember you smile
