Update?
Hmmm. Not really much to update at the moment. The IVA tests have started up again and I'm just waiting my turn now. However, there's been a slight change in plan. Previously the intention, as stated, was to stick with the polished white gelcoat finish and only have the Alitalia stripes painted.
After a chat and some thought and guidance from LB we've decided to send the car off in a couple of weeks to paint the whole car including the Alitalia stripes. The folk doing the work have a great background in preparing and restoring racecars so it seems to be in good hands and they've promised lots of photos of the process. I imagine we will talk about decals etc during the process.
Edited to make it clear that it's only the Alitalia stripes being painted

Love the Alitalia livery but for a road car I think all the sponsor / driver stickers would look really fussy.
(not that you care what I think I’m sure)
I think I'm fairly sold on the sponsor / driver stickers.(not that you care what I think I’m sure)
The Alitalia livery itself comes with a standard bunch of logos and I think it looks a wee bit naked without the full rally look.

Am I understanding this right - you're getting the livery painted on as well?
No, sloppy photo-shopping but the car will be painted white and the Alitalia stripes will be painted.Suppose what I meant was that I've never seen an Alitalia car without the standard bundle of "Alitalia" and "Lancia" and "HF" logos with it.

I was just wanting to be sure that I'd understood the above (my bold) correctly in that the Alitalia livery is being painted on.
Ok, I'm with you now, I think! So the photoshop above is what you're hoping to get painted? Cool
I know what you mean re the car seeming a bit naked without the rest of the logos etc.
I can't quite make up my mind what I'd personally prefer. I think on balance, I'd go for the full package, if I was doing it.

.... and after months of no updates they are now flooding in!!
I got some pics today of the car getting ready to head off to the paint shop.
Plus, after all the debate earlier about maybe getting some slightly wilder profiled cams to get a bit more power but also a more race-car like lumpy idle I heard that the reprofiled cams had been returned to the workshop and would be fitted after the car passes the IVA test.
And..... I got a date early in October for the IVA test itself!!
Whoop whoop. It's been quite an exciting day.

The first drive of your freshly built kit car is something you won't easily forget.
If it were me I'd also be having an afternoon at Blyton park on a test day/ track day to weedle out any minor issues or tweaks and to thrash it in relative safety:-)
Enjoy the experience on collection, nerve wracking as it will be!
