I was reading this thread the other night then passed you today; weird! You let me past just after the petrol station in the dip on the A69. My boys were very excited to see the car and they looked great in convoy on the trailers.
What a coincidence! Glad they liked seeing them We were on the way back from Pembrey for an Ariel track day - lot of driving to get there and back! Will do an update / photos when I get chance.MDifficult said:
Hey - sorry I didn't get a chance to say 'hi' properly on Friday - every time I popped over to your car I think you were either somewhere else or deep in conversation! I loved seeing you guys on track and managed to get myself a passenger ride too. Great day all round.
Aggh sorry! I totally forgot too - I was trying to be on track as much as possible, and had a passenger every time. Glad you got out in Elliotts - they are mega fun on track aren't they! Were you out with him one one of the sessions we were in convoy? Were you at the meal on Friday? We had arrived late after a long drive, so I was exhausted and all over the place. we only just made it in time for food.Edited by ol on Monday 17th October 14:00

No worries at all - I was the same.. trying to be on track either myself or as a passenger at all times! I've written about my experience with Elliott in my thread but suffice to say... absolutely bananas I was at the dinner but had just driven down myself, so I was tucked in the corner and headed off to bed pretty early!

Next time for sure I read your post - sounded like he gave you a great Nomad experience! I was at the dinner but had just driven down myself, so I was tucked in the corner and headed off to bed pretty early!
Funny you should mention that! I had a 360 camera on the Nomad for a run - video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68aRyHAczcI

I never did a proper post about Pembrey. Before hand I was a bit sceptical, as it was an Ariel factory test day, with a handful of customers allowed to tag along, so wasn't sure how the day would pan out. To cut a long story short, it was the best track day I've ever been on.
Open pitlane all day,
Ariel testing the Atom 4R
Dead nice people
All the factory guys were there to chat to and get advice from
and mainly... Drifts!
As it was private hire, there weren't the usual trackday rules, so we were allowed (and encouraged) to get it sideways pretty much all day. So we did!
I travelled down with one of the other local Nomad guys. We both opted to trailer, as the weather looked changeable, and it was 10-12 hours each way, which can get a bit deafening in a Nomad.

We stayed in a local hotel with about 20 other Atom and Nomad owners. It was nice to meet them all, and we had a nice dinner together. The nest morning we arrived at Pembrey. It was a great sight - 20-30 atoms and 6 Nomads.

Spent pretty much all day just lapping. I took 10+ different people out for passenger rides, all who seemed to enjoy it! Had some great runs with the other Nomads - shoutout to Elliott (car crazed fool)in the orange supercharged Nomad who I spent most of the day chasing / getting chased by.
I got black flagged a few times for noise, (we worked out it was due to the car giving a bit pop on upshift right where the noise meter was located) so I spent most of the day in low boost, so running around 320bhp. I did a few runs in high boost mode (380) when I could get away with it.
Tyres were 'well used' by the end of the day!

Looks a right hoot.
How well to the Nomad's cope with track work with the ride height and nobbly tyres?
Surprisingly wel! At Croft nothing came past all day. I didn't have the knobblies on, but the all terrain Geolanders are surprisingly sticky when they're warm. The lean on the suspension makes it more of an event. Would highly recommend! How well to the Nomad's cope with track work with the ride height and nobbly tyres?
