Ah the old 'that's no stain. It's the reflection of the chrome on my duvet, honest mum.' wink

I've read through this forum a couple of times and I don't understand the stick you keep getting. Yes a scaffolding roll cage is a bad idea, but you made some money on it somehow. Yes you could have spent all this money on a serious performance car and more people on Pistonheads would applaud you, and yes I don't know what your fascination is with modding a car to look good because I think it seems like a colossal waste of money BUT you've been bothered to show the progress. So I say good for you, thanks for sharing and good luck.

Just read through all of this thread and think a lot of the comments are out of order. I personally would do things a little differently, but its your car and your money! Fair play for taking the criticism so well too.

Agreed. Fair play for not listening to all the nonsense. Ok, I would do things differently, I would have it stripped out, but then again that's what i'm into.. At the end of the day we're all the same, car enthusiasts. We all have different tastes and I appreciate the work and enormous amount of money that's went into your car..

I would love to know what stheaps the keyboard warriors among us are driving.. (Their real cars by the way, not the one's they make up for their profile on an internet forum)

I saw a black and white C2 on the M62 heading towards Liverpool on Friday night, looked exactly like this - C2 was it you? Looked quite smart actually.

ETA - Just looked at your profile and see you are from S. Wales so unlikely to be you. I do however like the look of your car, and modified cars are not my thing at all, be interested to see some more pictures as it develops further.

before you fit the wheels you nneed to get some big breaks to fit behind them. one thing i dont like on modiifed cars is seeing small breaks behind big wheels.

Joan, what are you thinking, get a fat dude eating Kit Kats to sit in there?

A car like this will always bring some criticism, but that the way of world and it's good that not everyone's the same.

I love a good modded motor if it's done properly and has a high quality level. As a mk2 Golf GTI16v driver I prefer the more subtle approach, but then again as a 1st car I had a standard sunburst red (more orange) mk3 Escort 1.3 and I would be chuffed to bits to have a 1st car like this distinctive motor.

Top scores on the work done and glad to see you've not gone down the Saxo-over-the-top-seventeen-exhaust-tailpipes-out-the-back look. Makes me wish that I didn't have the mechanical knowledge of a footballer's wag.
