Nice list there, I’m sure I’d change my mind on gearbox servicing if there was any hesitation etc but it’s currently smoother than my 2015 S4.
Understand the RS6 has the same gearbox but it has 80 bhp more and 100+ torque which must make a difference. Also the way the 2 cars are driven :-)
I agree, if it’s nice and smooth - leave it alone! Understand the RS6 has the same gearbox but it has 80 bhp more and 100+ torque which must make a difference. Also the way the 2 cars are driven :-)
I had slightly more power in the RS6... kind of created my own problems with it...
it was awesome when it worked mind you...But killed my love of cars.
Good effort!! Such a lovely looking example!
I’ve not used mine much recently, but on those odd occasions that I have, it’s a pleasure to drive.
I’m considering a bit of spend on it over the winter to bring it up to scratch. Transmission, tyres, wheel refurb, and suspension refresh are on my list.
I was plagued by the clicking from within the dashboard, which was solved relatively easily with some replacement HVAC servo motors. That’s made a welcome difference.

Running the basic settings with VCDS will push all the motors through their full range of movement - often it'll be the first time a fault will actually log for a specific motor being knackered Mine had the motor that controls the fresh air vent over the central airbox go duff, and with the covers removed you could see it didn't want to behave when exercised
Cheers Bogsye, will get some new pics up this week with a decent camera.
I think this will be my last year with the car due to rebuilding my house and moving in somewhere with only 1 parking space.
I'm tempted to try Collecting Cars.com due to the ease of selling in these Covid times, we'll see.
I notice the same cars from the 4 star classics S8 at £16k to the higher milers at £4k are not moving :-(

Those look like 'for sale' photos. The new owner can look forward to refreshing the faded S8 badge on the bootlid - the rest of it looks great.
It is a bit faded and yes you are right, I mean that was the aim but you know what happens when you get the car looking good.... second thoughts happenfastgerman said:

Not sure that S8 badge is straight either...
Oh no! I was thinking that too, but didn't want to be the grump on this thread! The '8' has been replaced at some stage, by quasimodo!Sorry OP, you've got to get that sorted now or this thread will remember!
