The service at Rogue Motorsport was actually today, as I was only expecting (planning?) for a little service, oil & filter change and a quick once over, I decided to take the car and wait. As it was such a nice morning I walked along the canal, for about 3 hours, which was really relaxing, and not the sort of thing I would usually do. When I got back to Rogue there was bad news, one of the rear break callipers needed replaced. The handbrake is the achilles heal of the mk3 MR2, so I think I have done well to make it through 11 years of ownership without any significant issues with it.

The benefit of using a specialist like Rogue Motorsport is that they already had a pair of reconditioned callipers on the shelf and I didn't have to wait too long for them to be fitted. I just about managed to make my afternoon tea date with my wife. On the way back I stopped for petrol, then called into the bodyshop to get a quote for sorting a few bumper scuffs. And to top off an expensive day of MR2 ownership, I got home to the tax renewal notice from the DVLA. But on a sunny day like today, there is no other car I would rather be driving.

Car is looking great! Be careful with Prius fog lights though, I ordered some looking to save a couple of quid and found they were an awful fit. Admittedly I did by the cheapest set I could find on eBay. They were a plastic housing rather than the aluminium housing of the OE MR2 parts, they also have about an inch of water in them now as they leak like a sieve. Will be ordering some MR2 specific ones with aluminium housings soon!
