I assume most owners are taking up the service deal at just over £1k for three years.

Does anyone know what the standard service charges would be without this offer ?

One owner, in the USA, has shown his first service cost invoice on youtube - US$47 !

Wow, that’s cheap. Maybe he took his own oil and filters along!

Afraid I don’t know the standard costs. But the package is under £170 per service, so seems pretty good considering the engine etc.

@had ham, I have done some research on the dealer I suggested.

I can’t seem to PM you on PH!

Anyway, the dealer no longer sells new Stingers, but they do deal in second hand ones and may be able to help you source one.

Odono is also very happy with the service he has been given having bought two Stingers from them and had them both maintained there.

Servicing cost from my garage, but all garages may differ my first 6 monthly service which was last week £149, 2nd £205 3rd £149 4th £299 5th £149 6th £299 I looked at Kia package by Emac remaining 5 services taking it up to 3 years £907 so a big saving only problem if you sell car remaining services stay with car.

There's a lot on the internet regarding noise from the sun roofs, it seems to be a fairly common problem. What's the current situation with this, have Kia come up with a permanent fix ?

I test drove a low mileage example yesterday and didn't notice any noise from the sunroof. However the blind was closed and given that I was driving an unfamiliar car I was concentrating more on the driving and wasn't particularly paying attention.

Enjoyed the car very much. Wasn't overly impressed with the dealer experience.

My sunroof rattled. It was never too bad, and could be direct sunlight-dependent. Almost as if the roof expands when hot.

Kia have re-aligned the roof rails and greased the runners and moving parts. It is much, much better now.

It is not completely silent all the time, but I don’t think about it / it doesn’t concern me any more, which is a good thing. It doesn’t detract at all from my enjoyment of the car.

The HuD glass recently started rattling, again sporadically, quite recently. Kia took one attempt to fix it - lasted a couple of months - and have now ordered me a new one (allegedly £2,500, but I can’t see how that is right for a projector?) which is currently on the boat from Korea.

Overall, I would say build quality is good - I’m
14k miles in. The car feels solid. We’ll see. The main thing is that I feel well looked after by the dealership.

Hi, apologies for late response, not sure what's wrong with the mail option, and I've only just briefly looked at PH for the first time this week as work has been very busy. Very much appreciate you looking in to that for me - I will be looking for new though. I'll start looking when I get a bit of time free, likely next month.

Also tempted by the new 400Z as I have a history of Zs previously, and my other option (budget/wife not withstanding) is currently LC500.

FWIW, 'er indoors bought a brand new Sportage in 2015 from the Kia Main Dealer in Harpenden - been pretty good garage so far - no warranty work required at all - 33K miles to date.

They did pick up on low front brake pads at last years MOT/Service - wanted £177 to supply and fit ( had a good butchers myself and they DID need changing fairly pronto ). Thanks, but passed on that offer. Set of Pagid's from ECP for £30 and replaced them myself, so saved her £147 smile

Ha, good work!

I hear that Stinger pads are pretty pricey via Kia. Mine are (allegedly) 50% worn at the front and 40% at the rear. 14k miles in. I do drive it fairly hard though.

Think I will get them changed elsewhere when the time comes.

Well, I've joined the club smile

Just put a deposit on a 2019 (69) model and very pleased with the deal I got. Should be here early next week.

Great news!! You will not be disappointed!!

What’s the spec? Post some pics and your initial impressions once you’ve picked it up and done a few miles.

It's the V6. Colour is HiChroma red with a black interior. Mileage just over 3k.

I negotiated a deal to include the service pack but then they gave me three additional services for free as well ? I now have 9 services !

Good work that man. Sounds like a decent deal.

The HiChroma red is a stunning colour and I think the black interior is probably best - classy and less prone to wear than the light grey and the red.

Looking forward to pics when you collect it! You won’t sleep this weekend!

I’m half tempted by one of these. Actually saw two of them in one day this week, within about a mile of each other! It’s a good looking car.

What's stopping you test driving one?

Thinking of popping over to Bolton Kia to take a look.

They have 3 from what I can see. 2 used and a orange new one.

Whats the real world MPG like on a decent run at motorway speeds ? 80 leptons is my normal gait

Just to update I was very close to going for a Stinger but we've bought a Tesla through my wife's business instead - tax efficient etc.
I was talking to Broadspeed re the Stinger - they had access to some good deals maybe a month ago - may be worth a call if anybody's still looking.
I was then told two weeks ago by the local dealer that there is zero new stock anywhere now until the new quilted seat model (21?) starts coming in. How true that is I dunno. They had a 20 plate black over red brand new car in the showroom and that sold pretty quickly.
So if you want one now's the time!

My mpg is 26-27 long-term with a 6 mile A- and B-road commute.

On a run (my parents are 150 miles away, 9/10ths motorway) 34-35 is easily achievable at said leptons.

Enjoy the Tesla! You are not alone in that choice!
