Wonderful thread. If you ever stumble upon any Peugeot 104s/Citroen LNAs/Sambas either parked up scrap or otherwise let me know!

Fantastic thread. Loved the early comment about only space for 16 cars !biglaughbiglaugh
Acquiring all these motors obviously takes a fair effort. I can only imagine the hassle of selling though. From personal experience and all the threads on PH, private selling can be a huge pita. Let alone some people who want to mess you about, sometimes even well intentioned plans go astray. I'd lose patience tbh. Keep up the great work.

Bloody hell, within a few hours of asking you've found the man one of the (probably) rarest cars on the roads, you really are the jalopy oracle laugh

Bloody hell, definitely the oracle of ordinarily forgotten cars! I wonder what's left of the Samba 7 years on from when the photo was taken?!

Yes, I was wondering the same thing. Hopefully I'm not asking a question that has been asked above (I didn't read every word, I have to admit), but Retroste where do you advertise your cars, and what kind of person buys them? In other words, where do you shed your sheds? (sorry about that).

The trouble is that, whatever you answer, half of me will want to avoid the place that you sell like the plague, and the other half of me will be strangely attracted...

How does a Parisian 104 end up rotting in Perthshire?

My first car was a Peugeot 104, now I’m even more interested in this thread!
I’m also keen to know how you sell them on so quickly. Sounds like you have developed a great network locally.

Excellent thread, thank you very much for sharing.

He's got a Facebook page where he does a lot of advertising.

It's not a very good tool for advertising, my lada advert has reached over 100k people but hasn't had a bit of interest.
Mostly I just advertise on the places I'm buying them from such as ebay, Facebook marketplace, gumtree, car and classic, and various forums, if I'm buying from these places then so must other people.
I think people have issues selling cars because of the types of cars they are selling and the type of person they attract.
I'm selling to mainly enthusiasts who know a thing or two about old cars, I usually have a good filter from the first message as to whether the person is likely to turn up and buy the car.

Looking back through last years cars a lot of them were sold on retro car Facebook groups, a few of the higher value ones through car and classic, I don't think I sold any through forums and I sold a few on gumtree.

It's still there if that's what you're asking. I think it's in a similar condition, not sure if I have any more recent photos.

Selling can test my patience at times but as long as I'm not in a position that I need to sell a car I can afford to wait a while for the right buyer to appear.
I do sometimes choose who to sell to, I can usually sense if someone is going to be a tt.

I see a few people from here are joining the retroste Facebook group, I wouldn't bother, there's very little activity on it even with over 1k members.
There's also a page with over 10k followers but I'm not really bothered if people choose to follow it or not.

Moderator edit: less of the YouTube channel promotion please

All forums have rules

RR as FOAD you will know it's all about the cars - ie no politics etc

PH - Don't use posts on PH drive traffic to personal blogs/you-tube channels

I'm not a mod but honestly - How fking hard is it to grasp?

Seriously - you've had way more shots across the bows than I've seen others get in the past and you still don't get it because your post above just reads like another bh and moan????

To be fair to RetroSh...te he was actively DISCOURAGING people joining his FB group!

But I do see your point. It would be a real shame if this lunacy thread got locked.

And more to the point, he wasn't the one who raised it's existence, he just responded to the subject!

It was really just the double standards, I've seen various other threads on here which mention the point in the thread was to create YouTube content and then I've seen people like yourself bending the rules and posting links to the OP's channel but when I made a mention of YouTube recently without posting links my post gets edited by admins.

I know I have been warned in the past about posting links which I have stopped doing.
I have a website which most of the content I've posted on here is on but I've never made any mention of that until now, I've put a lot of effort in here writing about my experiences and sharing my photos.
I didn't even bring up the topic of social media but somebody asked and I thought an honest answer would be best.
