Superb update OP - this is just perfect. I think i remember reading about why you swept the tailpipes down and i'f see it on big power turbo cars to reduce the likelyhood of torching a close following car behind. Is this for noise?Edited by Arnold Cunningham on Friday 22 April 20:34

Interesting, saw a Mk1 'Bini' Mini racing at Silverstone probably 15-20 years ago now, which was RWD and had been fitted with an E46 M3 engine. Was in a dark blue/purple colour from memory - got blown away by the more spaceframed older Minis from memory but was an awesome engineering feat to see back then! Look forward to seeing some pics of OP's to compare.
