That looks fantastic and I bet it sounds just as good. I’m guessing no real power benefit (stock airboxes are normally pretty good in my experience, and absent significant mods elsewhere there’s not much restriction to begin with) but with the howling induction noise of a NA straight 6 who cares?
This reminds me of the airbox on the E46 M3 CSL, which has one of the best induction sounds of any car. If you’re anywhere close to that it’s a definite winner
They claim a power increase but it’s not noticeable via the butt dyno It’s all about the noise which is very noticeable especially as the revs rise; it’s quite loud and much deeper than stock. I was hoping to try and do a few vids today but I can out of time (spent too long riding bikes).
Put the detachable tow bar to good use having bought a tow bar mounted bike carrier
It’s much better than my roof mounted one to be honest, so I think I’ll be stealing the 330i more.
Annoyingly the plug for the electrics points at the diffuser so it’s pretty much impossible to plug anything in. I might see if I can bend the bracket to improve access.

Not too much to report but on this at the moment. It had another wash yesterday because it looked really sorry for itself after the last few weeks of rain.
It’s not far off ticking over 169k now. It needs a new pollen filter according to the the CBS but I can’t remember if I’ve already changed it but will probably pop a new one in given how cheap they are and it’s due an interim oil change shortly.
I still need to do the rocker cover gasket and CCV system but haven’t really been motivated to do it. I’ll get that sorted soon since I have the parts here.
The last big job is the rest of the suspension refresh once I’ve bought M3 LCA’s (which are hard to find at the mo). I’ve got the otter arms and the bushes, so it’s just finding the time to fit it all.

We’re heading up to the Lakes for a few days tomorrow, so I checked the coolant level, oil etc and gave the old girl a wash because it hasn’t been done for a few weeks.
Citrus pre-was doing its thing
Obligatory snow foam shot
Washed, dried and given a quick coat of ceramic detainer until I can have a day detailing it.
I’ve also replaced the sunglasses cubby with just the basic cubby from the LCI car because it’s more useful. It’s gone up loads since the last one I bought, but hey ho. I did mate a slight boo-boo removing the centre console trim; it turns out the wood is much more delicate at the edges so I new one has been order from Global Parts and will be fitted this weekend.
Whilst cleaning the interior, I noticed that the carpets were a bit damp under the rubber mats. I’m hoping it’s just rain etc that’s got under the rubber this week and not been able to dry. I’ve removed the mats tonight to let it dry out but will keep an eye on things.
Tow bar fitted ready for the bike rack in the morning.
All that is left is to full it with super and check the tyre pressures.

The Touring is looking fantastic Sam. Have a fantastic time in the Lakes……..and a pint for me in Tweedies
Cheers Tom. It’s getting there although it looks better in n pictures that up close! It does t like we’re too far from there; we’re staying in Crosthwaite and are planning to ride at Ullswater and will no doubt end up on Ambleside at some point to might head to Tweedies if it’s any good.

Touring looks superb Sam; colour is stunning, more so with those wheels
Good luck in getting the damp sorted; it'll be something simple hopefully
Have a good break away; it's foul as 40 bumholes here in Lancashire currently; so you know it'll be the same in the Lakes
It's not the Lakes if it's not lashing it down

The drivers side is bone dry but apparently the passenger side is slightly damp again so I’ll pop the door card off at some point.
The weather is a bit st so far (just stopped near Preston).

Sorry, I realised that seconds after I posted.
But my Sparkling Graphite is never anywhere as clean as yours and my Silver Grey Z4 is much the same.
I really miss some colour in my cars. I loved my Imola Red 325ti Compact and Montego Blue Z4 combo.
It wouldn’t be my first choice of colour, but I think it’s nice as far as grey goes. But my Sparkling Graphite is never anywhere as clean as yours and my Silver Grey Z4 is much the same.

We got back from the Lakes late last night and the little 330i proved to be a great car for the trip; it swallowed all of our crap, was easy on fuel and is pretty comfy. The only thing I miss on longer trips is CarPlay.
It was looking pretty grotty again after 400 odd miles which included lots of rain….and I mean lots at times.
Unfortunately the centre console trim that I bought from eBay is the wrong colour - it’s much much darker than the trim in the car. I’m still on the lookout for a piece of trim.
Whilst we were away, the oil I ordered from Opie arrived but I won’t be doing the oil change anytime soon because the filter was crushed in transit.

I got the Andream unit as recommended to me before, works an absolute dream to get CarPlay. Has a hiccup every few moons where it’ll just need a hard reset but for the money it’s been bob on! Definitely second the recommendation if you’re looking into it!
I envy your car cleaning regimen, mine gets a fortnightly wax through a drive in car wash
Any updates on a possible M3 yet?
I’ve got an Andream unit n my 335i and can’t fault it. Unfortunately because this is a none-nav car, my options are a bit more limited; the double dins installs look rubbish in the 3 series because if the massive faceplate and there’s not usually anywhere to relocate buttons for the front PDC. The other option is the top mounted jobbies, but I’m not in love with the idea of cutting the dash up.I envy your car cleaning regimen, mine gets a fortnightly wax through a drive in car wash

I’m sad enough to try and keep on top of cleaning them because it makes my life easier.
The M3 is on hold for now pending the outcome of our mortgage renewal in June. I’d previously thought it was next summer but was wrong (as my wife keeps reminding me ).

That's a sod re the oil filter pal! Had exactly the same but with Amazon; ordered a Hengst and Mann filter from them; both crushed (clearly been stodd on or had something dropped on them)... No sts given as per the norm...!
E91 looks spanking as always
Yeah, it’s really annoying. I’ll give Opie a call tomorrow and see what they say. I probably won’t get chance to drop the oil until next weekend now, plus I’ve still got the old stuff from my 335i to dispose of.E91 looks spanking as always

Spoken to Opie this morning who were very apologetic and are sending out a replacement filter today. E91 looks spanking as always

Best of luck with it, we’ve just been stung with a 380 increase along with everything else going up!
At least an M3 will keep you smiling through such turbulent times…
Yeah it’s a bit of a pisser. The jump from 1 point something percent to nearly five is expensive! The biggest kick is paying lots more and not actually getting any more house. At least an M3 will keep you smiling through such turbulent times…
