2002 E39 530i Touring - Japanese import

Just read the whole thread. Your car is lovey!
I'm looking to pick up a diesel E39 in about a year to compliment my E82 as my E82 doesn't really fit my greyhound in. Diesel because I do around 18,000 work miles a year, I love the 3.0l petrol in my E82 but diesel makes more financial sense for these miles.

If you get a decent one; you'll love it I'm looking to pick up a diesel E39 in about a year to compliment my E82 as my E82 doesn't really fit my greyhound in. Diesel because I do around 18,000 work miles a year, I love the 3.0l petrol in my E82 but diesel makes more financial sense for these miles.
In all honesty; I'd still go for a petrol for the mileage you're doing
I think diesels have their place, but c25k miles and over IMO; on a good run my E39 will get 36MPG and only really doesn't do well when it's start/stop traffic and around town etc
Plus, petrols (the M54) is much easier to maintain and cheaper to fix than the M57 derv; just the turbo going on that can set you back quite a lot!

The AG kit can be had cheaper as well if you have a trade card.
I need to figure out a way to get one of those things haha I got my trade card years ago when I was part of a vauxhall forum. Don't leave home without it now.
A full wash and detail this afternoon; nice to enjoy the cold & crisp weather
Rinsed (full of crap off the country roads); AG Polar Blast snowfoamed, rinsed, AG Magma sprayed on the alloys and lower half of the car; rinsed, AG Ultimate Shampoo washed, rinsed, towel dried, alloys towel dried and tyres treated with Chemical Guys Tyre & Trim detail gel:

I shoved mine in the garage after cleaning it at the weekend...it’s nice getting into a clean, dry car.
Looks well when clean though.
Could squeeze the Jazz in but not mine, it'd need to be totally empty

Haha wish I could; our garage is full of all my training equipment and all my stones. Plus all the car cleaning stuff, power tools and fridges/freezers & tumble dryer.

The obvious solution to this particular problem is ‘bigger garage’!Could squeeze the Jazz in but not mine, it'd need to be totally empty

The current garage (1964 asbestos special) will be levelled very soon for a proper man-shed with a car port at the front of it. The current garage is far too low (I'm 6ft 4 and the beams are shoulder height for me unfortunately); makes it interesting training in there; have to make sure I"m between the beams for when I'm standing and anything overhead or stone training is outside only

Och, stuff that. I'd be out doing it in the street or something, like plenty of space for when I have to bail out.d_a_n1979 said:

Going to give Polar Blast a whirl.

The next door house (current empty as the old boy died Jan 2020) has a double length, brick garage and that was his workshop etc; I did pop previous cars in there before as he didn't have a car as had to stop driving. That was great for doing detailing under cover; but the lighting was terrible
