This is what happens when morons think it's acceptable to force their way through thinking you'll stop for them, and you're going at a speed that you can't.

Yep, he couldn't really do a runner, I was on a roundabout in the right hand lane about to go up the side of a low loader in the middle lane, when he joined the roundabout at the next junction from the one I'd joined at and tried to go round the back of the low loader into the lane I was in, I'd only just joined and was accelerating fairly hard to dive up the side of the low loader, I realised he wasn't going to stop so anchored on pretty hard but he just carried on into the wing.
When I got out and confronted him he responded saying, "I thought you were going to stop!!!"
Already admitted liability, I have a dash cam so he can't really deny it, insurance company are dealing with it, just waiting for a sate for Rio to go in.

Well I've had a call today confirming that Rio will go in on the 15th February, and that they're giving me a courtesy car.

Just seen this, sorry to hear about Rio's bump, I hope the guilty parties insurance company doesn't mess you about.

Nope, they've already accepted liability, i have a dash cam so it's pretty clear cut.
My only concern is that they declare him a write off, i've already told them i reserve the right to buy him back.

If they do write him off I hope they don't just pick out the cheapest Mk2.5 estate from Autotrader and say we will give you that price. At least they have accepted liability, I hope the guilty party loses a substantial chunk of no claims for this.

Sadly Eyersey, I doubt he will, older guy, got out, put his hand up and said "I thought you'd stop", admitted he was wrong immediately.
As for what they'll offer, I insisted that the car be shown as being worth £3k, which is what I paid for him back in 2019,.
I've already done some searching and they're actually still around that area, I'll refuse for them to retain the car, it is I believe my right to insist on buying the car back as it's not structural damage, just a wing, a scuff on the bumper and a scuff on the wheel, I've already found a couple of replacement front wings and my friend who's already done bodywork on Rio will swap the wings and deal with the rest for a couple of hundred quid.

Aaannnndd, I've booked my tickets for another go at Santa Pod on the 24th June, hopefully I'll make it this time and not end up in hospital!!!
If anyone fancys having a giggle watching a slow Ford Focus trundle down the strip, or even joining in, the 24th June is a Run What Ya Brung day!!!

Cheers darkyoung1000!!

And as I like to spoil you all, another update!!!
There's been a couple of instances where I've been driving enthusiastically and have ended up with slightly spongey brakes!!!
So after much interweb searching, head scratching, over thinking, procrastinating and mind changing I think I've settled on a solution!!!
Keep my Mintex discs, add EBC Redstuff pads, EBC braided brake lines and change the fluid to Motul RBF660, thoughts anyone???

Whatever you do, don't go Red Stuff. they are more of a race pad. Go Green Stuff fast road. I'm intrigued to try ATE ceramic pads but can't justify 100 quid for a set of Mondeo front pads! Have you flushed the ABS unit? I do a fluid change every 2/3 years on long-term cars and it's always on the priority list on cars I buy as rarely is it done to schedule. Never used anything except Dot 4 but that's not to say there isn't better stuff out there, however, these are diesel daily drivers not used in anger. I will say cheap pads and discs are utter ste!
