Great work on the screens! Love the brass
Thanks. I did plan on adding a load of brass design touches in the bodywork when I started the build but that soon got sidelined as a frivolity.

I still have a large sheet of brass that I need to work out what to do with it.

I'm thinking about removing the black edging strip from the bottom of the aero screens as it's quite an obvious "border" and I think the centre one looks cleaner with no bottom edging.

Something to think about anyway....

I've had a few people ask me about the connection with the rabbit emblem on the bonnet and I'm not sure I've covered it here before.

When I was a kid my first "proper" pet (excluding goldfish) was a pet rabbit. She was a french lop called Pogo. My wife has always had pet rabbits too, whilst mine was an outdoor rabbit, hers have always been house rabbits. When I married her she accepted that building/restoring cars was my vice, and I accepted that small indoor fluffies was hers.

Since we've been in our house we've had 3 rehome guinea pigs and two rehome house rabbits. Rabbits are underappreciated pets in my opinion. They're more like indoor cats I think, they have real personalities and affection, but they also get "the zoomies" like dogs do.

Our current pet rabbit (Rupert) is part lionhead and is a golden colour, he's fairly majestic but he can be a bit of a dhead when it comes to destroying furniture and you have to be very aware of any cables. He'll go through any flex in a single snip.

As a result of this I always knew I wanted a rabbit bonnet emblem, as a little nod to my OH. It was just a matter of rummaging through antique/vintagey type places and charity shops to eventually find a little brass one that was just right, it took a while because it needed to be the right size and stance (and brass). Anyone who's had a pet rabbit will be familiar with this pose, they also do a "loaf" pretty convincingly too.

I believe this one came with three or four other little brass trinkets from a charity shop for about a fiver. The others went straight back. I drilled and tapped two holes in the bottom and fit M5 studs with loctite. Cleaned, polished and lacquered.

Here he is sat on the sofa observing his kingdom.

The same stance as the brass ornament (he probably spends 20% of his entire life in this pose)

Think I'm pretty much done on the Pembleton for the moment so unless I'm driving it I'll probably be over on the A35 thread - although there's very little progress to show there as I'm just doing lots of stty welding jobs. Welding up holes, gaps, trimming flanges, welding seams, capping open bits, rebuilding returns etc.

I've always assumed that the rabbit was a Pembleton thing, I didn't realise it was your own addition.

Lovely work on this car, thanks for sharing the process. I'm quite tempted by a T24 now.....

There's not much "standard" pembleton in this build tbh, not that there's really such a thing as a standard pembleton.

It's 25years of the Pembleton motor company this year and they're having a big bash at Prescott towards the end of summer. There'll be loads of Pembletons there if you're genuinely interested.

I am. I may be selling the Cayman shortly and it should provide a large chunk of what I'd need to get into a T24. I like the idea of a 'modern' cycle car, and it would be ideal for trips up into the Dales, where we live.

I'll see if I can drag the family down to Gloucestershire for the meet up later in the year.

That's a shame. You just missed out on a really nice R100 powered brooklands.

Details of the even are on the PAG forum and the PMC website
