Yeah, I absolutely love the car, I desperately wish BMW still made them like this! Now on 174k and still my daily driver. Oil use seems to have stopped with rocker cover gasket and oil filter housing gasket. One of the front springs snapped over the summer, new springs/shocks at the front. Had some poor running a few months back fixed by replacing an intake hose and rebuilding the DISA valve with the X8R rebuild kit. Also needed another coil pack at one stage.

Edit: oh yeah, and I replaced the thermostat and within a few months in was showing the same code again...

It's just a joy to drive though, did 1000 miles around Yorkshire Dales this summer and it was brilliant, such a good all-rounder. Only problem was a sticky rear wiper which is since fixed.

I am in a bit of a quandary though as both rear arches need doing and I just don't know if it's worth sticking that kind of money into it. I really don't know what I would replace it with though. I could stick a few grand into it and still end up with a 15 year old 3 series with the thick end of 200k on it
