Clutch fitted today
First friction plate (home made alignment tool)
Intermediate plate
Second friction plate
Pressure plate
All makes for a lovely clutch sandwich
A few little points which are different to fitting a regular clutch. First off you have to make sure all of the balancing marks are kept together on assembly (see the tippex marks), and second of all that the friction plate splines are kept lined up so that the gearbox should slide in smoothly. To do this i cut a groove in the alignment tool that I could feel the splines with. Seems to have worked ok

I had a really good if not slightly frustrating day at Santa Pod today.
The good:
Car ran really well with no issues, did 6 runs over the day but wasnt improving so thought i wouldn't push my luck
The bad:
Didnt get the times i was hoping for but it was only my first go so plenty of room for improvement. It was really struggling for grip all day and even when trying to gently feed in the power it was still scrabbling in 3rd gear!
It doesnt do this on the road so maybe Pod is a bit slippy, plus obviously lacking some technique and could probably do with some stickier tyres. Best time of the day was 13.1 at 115mph but i didn't get a clean run all day.
Will scan in the pictures tomorrow

So that is most of the story up to date so far. The car is now SORNed as I am going travelling for a year or so, but when I get back I have a few more bits planned including a taller diff ratio, as it is currently bouncing the limiter in 4th on the quarter mile and 1st gear is basically useless and hard to launch.
This should hopefully bring the times into the 11's with some better rubber.

Quite a thread resurrection
The car is still tucked up in the garage as I am about to go to Australia (in 2 weeks) for the best part of a year. I have a few plans in mind for it when i get back though, which will definitely include getting it on a dyno and find out exactly what its making! I also have my eye on some taller rear diff gears to make first gear a bit more usable
For anyone that cares what i have been up to in the time away i have some threads in the Biker Banter forum, which include riding the length of Vietnam on a Chinese built 125cc scooter and a ride to the Arctic Circle on my Royal Enfield.
In between these trips I have also been to Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China and North Korea. I have a working holiday Visa for Australia so hope to top my savings up a bit there!
Expect to see some recommissioning updates next August or September

Im back!
A few updates, main ones being that the car is MOT'd and back on the road, is booked in for some further mapping on Friday and on the 11th May its going for its first ever power run at Surrey rolling road. Will be interesting to finally see what it is making!
Last week I also made some breather modifications to help stop a few oil leaks its developed, and I have some 16" wheels coming to fit drag radials too.
This year I am hoping to get into the 11 second 1/4 mile bracket
