1985 Porsche 944
Discussion
i have been wondering why the clocks have orange hands not like the yellow ones seen in most early 944's with the square dash, what do you want to know about the welder? he is a local one man band youngish guy, i had seen a couple of example of his work and it looked good enough to me so i got him to have a look at the car and he gave me a very reasonable quote!
i have the car back from welding! its back in the garage and ive not touched it since or even taken any pictures as wasnt well at the time due to food poisoning and have been working each weekend since! hes based in leicestershire i paid £600 he can be found on facebook here https://www.facebook.com/wattswelding1 i will be back on the car soon but trying to rebuild my kitchen and help mum and dad rebuild their bungalow and move out of mine! so very busy
Well yesterday i finally managed a bit of free time to check if the 944 was still where i left it!
i then pushed it out into the sun for the first time since the welding was completed
Yesterday job was to remove the ignition switch and check it for cracks as this can be a symptom of some of the electrical issues i have had with the car, of course the battery was also flat after sitting for a while, in order to get the switch out you have to remove the steering wheel stalks and some trim, as the car came with an aftermarket wheel it was only right that i fit my new MOMO at the same time
The ignition switch looked brand new of course, the wheel is just on temporary for now so i could get the car back in the garage,
