I never believed it was real at all. Too strange that in all the time they were posting no one ever met / spoke to them and the multi millionaires couldnt afford a digital camera to post pictures of the elusive F1.

I remember a thread posted by 'Jaydee' about someone who had abandoned a TVR Chimera outside a gate which was blocking access to Daddys Estate. He posted it in General Gassing only and not in the TVR forum which I thought was weired. I suspect he got a lot more attention from his adoring fans in General Gassing.

I expect he is on some other forums bragging about daddy's new Lear Jet.

Yes, the Tuscan in the field and the lack of digital camera to confirm it was when the whole plot began to unravel and was the beginning of the end (IMO). Up until that point it was just about hanging together. Although, with hindsight, I did think at the time that "Mrs. Dokic"'s advise on buy-to-let was rubbish. Unfortunately the wool was so far over my eyes that even that didn't set off the alarm bells.
I didn't even suspect when a Google search failed to turn up his name, FFS.

It took flasher to say "you are a fraud and you can spank my bottom and call me Susan if I'm wrong" (I paraphrase in a BlackAdder stylee) before my eyes were finally opened.

I'm sure others apart from flasher had begun to suspect too. Unfortunately I wasn't one of them.

Flasher and Bennno didn't believe them from the start.

I was suspicious when MrsD joined, but we had no proof, it wasn't till a few of us started listing the facts 'they' let go on threads that it looked so suspicious. We then started digging and as we say the rest is history. As Ted says come to Pistonfest and we can tell you all about it

Ah well. "All's well that ends well", as they say in the 'Dated Phrases' thread.

(And I guess that on that note the 'jingle jangle' of padlock keys is probably not far away)

The one good thing to come out of it was to show that nearly all PH ers are decent genuine people who are only too willing to help others out in what ever way they can and are genuinely concerned when something bad happens to them despite the fact that they may never have met them.

Just a shame it took one saddo to highlight the fact.

Anyway I am off to pick up my new Carrerra GT from the dealers. The digital camera is broken at the moment but I will post picks soon

Could we just have a link to the dénoument thread before we all take our cocoa up to bed?

Flasher and I had the most hilarious conversation about the Dokics back around April last year. He was recalling Bennno's conversation about their "picture" of the person behind the Dokics was really like. I was sat on the floor in my old apartment in tears. Do you remember Jim from the one bed flat in Preston Flasher?

The whole think scares the pants off me, some of the details the fruitloop could get his hands on he must have been a full on pooter geek type
At one one point I had a phone conversation with a 'Dokic employee' and this must have been the man himself

If you want a good laugh entirely at my expense, I was going to phone Jackie Stewart about Mrs D's purse - she said it had been nicked in the BRDC clubhouse at Silverstone.

Thank God I forgot!

I had reams of correspondence with JD about business things, tax etc, and shudder at the thought, but no real harm done.

Fell for it hook line and sinker - sorry Flasher - I should have listened to you!

Life would be dull without these little interludes....

P.S. Sorry Ted, I know it was no fun for you.

yeah - also 100% suckered. I think I never suspected anything for 3 reasons

1) why the f**k would you bother to go to that extent?
2) Jaydee, Jon D and Mrs D had distinct personalities. Jaydee wrote much 'younger' then Jon
3) The illness. That's genuinely upset me. Pretending to have expensive cars, whetever; who cares? but that was something else. You have to have absolutely zero concerns for other peple's feelings to do asoemthing like that - little to$$er!!

still - you cant say it wasn't one of the best scams ever.
