Sorry miss post..

My vectra Di 250quid with 12months ticket, in 6 months I have only put a fan belt on it 2 tyres and a rear wheel bearing, Oh and a service - oil and filter, air filter and a set of front pads.

So far £410 including the original purchase price. Its done 9.5k so far. Its in dyer need of a windscreen now though. that's £80 I don't want to spend.

Just got the MOT ultimatum. I have never had.

She needs two tyres, a ball joint and track rod end, exhaust (inc cat), two rear wheel bearings, welding on the crossmember that holds the radiator in, new front number plate and two bulbs.

frown
2 tyres: head to the local scrap yard and get some second hand ones.
Ball joint and track rod end: no biggie, do them yourself
exhaust: this one is harder, you could source a cat from a breaker and get a cheap pipe made or patch your old one
Welding: can you weld? know anyone who can?
Number plate and bulbs: cheap as chips, you can make the plate yourself from a kit or get the local auto shop to make you one.
Bulbs: cost pennies

Shhhh - It's an excuse to get a new banger.

Anyway the Laguna has gone to the big scrapyard in the sky.

Cartakeback.co.uk took it - very good service indeed.

Got £260 for it.

Not bad.

smile

On the hunt for my next banger now!

Agila, yes. Or in other terms, a rebadged Suzuki Wagon R+. Or something.

Anyway. It cost me £50 with 8 months MOT.

Only looking to keep it for a couple of months.

Aye true. I got in the boot earlier and wondered why it wouldn't go.

Gotta give it its dues though - the 1.2 engine isn't all that bad!

Why would anyone sell a car for that price these days when they're worth more than that scrap? In other words why did you get it so cheap?

It belonged to a friends mum. She's now got a golf and it had been sitting on the front garden for a month. Just asked what they wanted for it smile
