The stock car was great quick and not too harsh TBH .
All late 2015 reg cars came with the ST 200 suspension so are less harsh and handle better .

I have driven one, though it was only a short drive and on decent roads. You don't really get time to notice harsh ride when your first port of call is seeing how fast it goes hahaha.

If you get a 16 plate or newer (might even be 65 plate I can't remember) they have the revised suspension settings from the ST200 which is supposed to improve the ride slightly. I don't have an issue with mine, but haven't compared it to an older one to see if there's any noticeable difference.

These alterations then allowed the engineers to reduce the spring and damper rate by using new front springs and dampers and new rear dampers (using the same springs) making the ST softer, and better able to deal with sudden bumps and camber changes."
Apparently, as Ford couldnt justify the expense of sending two different chassis setups down the production line, it started to put the suspension changes onto the standard ST last year (apparently from 13/8/15) without telling anyone, as it didnt want to ruin the ST200 surprise. The shorter final drive is unique to the ST200, though.

I don't find my 3y.o harsh or crashy on the suspension, and I do have some long drives (Lux to Le Mans is ~600km (6hours), Lux to "home" in the UK is ~750km (8 hours) ). Can someone just tell me what these things are like, stock on normal roads.... is it as harsh and bouncy as all the reviews make out? I have got it on 3 wheels on more than one occasion during a spirited drive....

Look at the 308 GTI 270 if you want to be different, RCZ's are a good car but you wont want a 156, so either a 200 or R (R's are going for Fiesta ST money and on the rise so....) where as 308 GTI's can be had for a bit of a bargain as the face lifted model is out shortly and dealers will want rid of stock

Symposer delete, I went for Boomba Racing's version - because I could get it cheaper in the U.S (I'm in Illinois near where Boomba are based 4 or 5 times/year) and it imporved the inside feeling hugely!
How tricky or easy was the shortshifter to fit? Noticeable difference?

Tight and fiddley to install the Mountune unit is 

At the weekend I installed my Mountune braided brake line kit along with some other parts .
First up was to check the rear brake pin sliders as I have read that that they can cause uneven were on the rear discs if they are not moving correctly .
The NSR were ok but I re greased anyway but the OSR were dry as a bone and looks like they never had any grease in them from new as my car is only a year old .

Over the Christmas holidays I managed to get a few more things done on the car and do some service work .
The car has just come up to 12000 miles .
First up was to clean the ITG air filter as it has not been cleaned in over a year .

Clean and oiled ready to go back in
Then a quick engine flush and an oil and filter change
I replaced the spark plugs for new ones
With this little lot done I started on installing some new bits on the car
First up was a Mountune Roll restrictor
New vs old
Then I set about changing the boost pipes for some Mishimoto large boar ones .
The Hot side pip is a one part unit so less chance of boost leeks and is much larger at 2.5 inch
The cold side is again larger at 2.5 inch
Installed
I wrapped the cross over pipe with heat reflect tape as this sits just over the turbo and does heat soak and gets warm to the touch .
Then on to the last job fitting the Boomba inlet manifold and throttle body spacers .
With the Inlet manifold off this was a good chance to have a look at the valves .
The car has done 12000 miles and they have a fair bit of gunk on them so I gave them a clean ( I have done this on my old 208 GTI so have a few techniques for this )

Just noticed you questioned me last July about the shortshifter fitting, but I think it was in error. I used Boomba's symposer delete. I'm not brave enough to do ANYTHING that needs spannering, so no shortshifter on my ST.
I do like the qulaity of Boomba stuff. I must pay a visit to them next time In in Illinois; I'm about 30mi away from them 4 or 5 times/year!

I have not taken if for a long dive yet but I will update with the findings .
