p4acks, i have the full sports exhaust from lotus factory and it sounds really very very nice...
when i was looking for an evora i viewed a couple that had the option of sports exhaust noted , but these were just the tips .. but still on the standard back box.. they sounded completely pants.. the factory sports exhaust was a 1500 option according to the purchase receipt..
having said that this is lotus we are talking about, they probably just went to teh parts bin, and fitted whatever was in there at the time. either way its a great v6 sound.

just a heads up if you intend on tracking your car, be very carefull what you do, as headers pipes and plack will put you straight in the hands of the noise police at every uk track id imagine...

Could never get on with the gear knob so I did what many have done and fitted an Exige V6 gear knob.

It's much better ergonomically, I really hated the original.

Would you mind telling me the lotus part no for the ally knob? I need a replacement for my Elise (old 2 part one has seen better days) but dont fancy the aftermarket options.

Also gave the wheels a good wash with Wonder Wheels
You missed a couple of bits near the valve!

I also have the 19/18 cast wheels in gloss black. A bugger to clean, but look really good when clean.

Remember seeing this on the stand at a motor show at the nec when they were first announced. My jaw hit the floor. Beautiful cars, well done OP.

I'm shocked that there are so many faults so early on.

Looks good, I had just hoped that they were far better built.

All the parts diagrams, with numbers, are here. Very useful if you're a Lotus owner!

The faults were just niggles really, and now they're all sorted I'm delighted with it!

Also, the gear knob part number is D120U0012F and you'll also need to buy a grub screw as it's not supplied with one, which I found out when I tried to fit it ha!

Next two jobs on my list are:

Interior dye (to red)

Steering wheel retrim
Dashboard airbag cover repair
Depending where in the country you are, my company (in my profile) can undertake the first job for you, and point you in the right direction on the latter two jobs.

If not geographically viable I'm happy to talk you through the process etc, via email or phone.

Ah cheers for the offer but you're a little too far away to make it viable - I'm in Newcastle.

Ah OK. A few pointers.

Don't use the cheapest company. Many leather refinishers focus on car dealers, who prep cars as cheaply as possible. They don't care if it lasts, and it usually doesn't. Check their durability guarantee.
Ideally, if possible, get the seats taken out of the car. If not check they have masked up well, then check again!
Someone good should be able to match to any red you wish. For leather red is the hardest colour to match perfectly, someone good shall be able to do it.

I do some work for Furniture Clinic, and they have a branch your way, they'd be a good start.

I am on my second evora as a daily driver. A few jiggles, but no real faults. I put 50k miles on the first one in 2 years.

This is my current one

Update:

Good news is the gear linkages are working perfectly, bad news is the TC light is intermittently back on so it'll have to go back to the Lotus dealer which I'll arrange when they've taken delivery of my new key (which is 208 bd quid).

Tomorrow it's booked in for a custom backbox which will be a straight through pipe which deletes the third cat and the rear silencer. For those interested I'll post a before and after video once I've found some decent video editing/stitching software.

In the meantime this is what it'll sound like... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dTD-DVctK4

Had the exhaust fitted at Exhaust Doctor in North Shields. Great quality with fantastic welds as you can see and it only cost me £240 fitted!

It turns out my car had the Janspeed Sports Exhaust fitted (LOTAC05504) which retails at an eye watering £1093!

Sounds absolutely great and when I get a chance at the weekend I'll upload a before/after video.

I was going to ask if the silencer is valved.... Then i saw no silencer ... hahaha. That yellow one sounded great though.

The comments on faults / niggles. I’ve had one a while now (18 months maybe), has been less aggravation than my previous 911 and an E46 M3 before that.

I'll post a video up at the weekend when I've stitched the before and after videos together.

And I agree about the niggles, I really don't mind them and in all honesty it adds character (my VX220 was the same). Which is more can be said for my 996.2 which needed endless amounts of eye-watering engine work and it was utterly soulless and dare I say, sluggish.

I'm very tempted by an Evora.

I'm looking forward to 18 months time when the cheap Golf R lease ends, but what are these like for children in the rear?

My daughter will be 8 or so when I'd be looking, would that be too big for anything other than short journeys? I don't commute (work from home) and have had a S1 Elise Sport 190 and a S2 Exige so I'm not worried about the ownership experience but my wife loves her VW Up (and to be fair, she does the school run etc. which it's perfect for) so we rely on me to have the car to do the family thing.
So I do need to do days out and long drives to family down south a couple of times a year and I don't want to be wedging an 8 or 9 year old into the car for 5 hours at a time if it's not practical.

Have I missed the boat on a 'family' Evora, should I have bought one sooner when my daughter was smaller?

It's entirely possible... if your wife is short therefore she can put the passenger seat forward then you could get an 8 year old in the back seats. You're best off trying before you buy.

Mine's a 2+0 so instead of seats it has storage - how they expect any human to fit in that space is beyond me.
