Mercedes-Benz W204 Coupe - AMG Sport Plus...Diesel
Discussion
I wasn't sure what colour to choose the calipers were silver but with the car being silver as well felt I needed a contrasting colour and eventually chose this amg gold which I'm really pleased with, the guy that did them was ace real attention to detail even refurbished my wheel bolts!
It's nice to see some love for the non-AMG versions of this. I feel most people tend to gravitate towards the 4-Series and overlook these.
I doubt you will, but if you're considering a quad-exhaust tip conversion, I have my OE diffuser from my C63 for sale. I am beyond no return with my car in terms of modifications so am starting to sift out the OE parts I stored.

Thanks ! Yeah I have had loads of BMWs , I'd pitch this somewhere in between an E92 coupe and a 4 series coupe in terms of technology.
I prefer the look and drive versus E92 and the equivalent engine is the troubled N47. The 4 series is significantly more expensive but I would imagine is better. I had an F30 320d and I prefer this in every way.
The quad tip conversion I'd love to do but not sure I want to modify by way of tune/noise at the moment. Happy with looks alone on this one.
Things may change though.

Update....expensive month!
The Merc sailed through its MOT, now at 76k and going strong. I did however have advisories on tyres X3 .
Now the rears I expected, they're on around 3mm I think and I planned to buy new tyres to be fitted alongside the refurb. The fronts however I was shocked at.
I had a Hunter alignment done a few months back which resulted in the car pulling left and the wheel pointing right. My rear toe is seized on one wheel so it's pushing the car left, the wheel pointing right is to compensate and keep the car straight.
I should have got it sorted then, but I didn't. As a result the outside edges of the fronts are advisory-worthy where the car is pushing them off centre. I think they look alright but as I'm getting the wheels done it's worth changing at the same time. I'll keep the old ones as spares:
I am convinced it is physically impossible to buy a second hand car with correct wheel alignment.
I ordered 4x Goodyear Eagle F1s for the sum of £370.... I was pleasantly surprised, the runflats of similar size on my F30 were double that.
Wheels.
As I previously indicated the wheels are completely dead. Polished sections are corroded, gloss black sections are flaking away. I'd never spec polished wheels , they just don't last in this country from what I've seen.
I went for a gloss black powdercoat, retaining the original centre caps. Coupled with the new tyres, I think they look great against the gloss white bodywork and black detailing. Really pleased !
Looking forward to giving it a good wash and getting some sunlight to really see it properly.
A few photos for those who are still reading:
A much better match than AMG + 'Sumitomo' on there previously...
And an artsy one on my way home...
The only down side, the garage used my handbrake liberally and it's seized again. I suffered with this before the service, so it's semi stuck on. It seemed to get better on the way home but it's probably another job for the other garage Wednesday.
Oh and a small replacement part for the warning triangle as this kept falling off.

Urgh more expense.
The good news:
Alignment finally sorted. The new garage managed to adjust the toe, shows why a good garage is worth paying for.
The bad news:
I haven't been able to drive it yet as the handbrake woes continued. The shoe was completely knackered with cracks, new mercedes parts ordered Inc all springs etc. Should be back on the road tomorrow.
Almost a grand spent in a week but hopefully it will be absolutely up to spec and a worthy investment!

The car is back and better than ever.
The handling is absolutely spot on, what a difference a good alignment can make. The new tyres are great, the car feels really well balanced.
Handbrake (footbrake) issues resolved it feels totally different and releases entirely. I'm sure this has been stuck on slightly for a while without me realising as the car decelerates less off-throttle.
Just waiting for some weather to give it a clean and take some photos!

After a few issues with the handbrake and the disc guard touching the disc, it's good to have it back on the road.
Mpg has gone up a bit too so suspect the brakes have been binding a while.
New issue, MOT garage must have adjusted my headlights as they are pointing too high and were quite low before. All motors are working so seems to just need an adjustment.
Finally got a chance to wash it for the first time since the wheels were fitted. I definitely made the right decision.

Saw a couple of these on my bike ride yesterday, still look so good. Car still going ok OP, or mothballed for the lockdown?
Also; pics from the first post at Southbourne Beach car park? (Must be a car-park-bearding interest group on PH!) Was there last year during our New Forest summer holiday. Just had to postpone this year's trip. Chuffing Covid.

Car is going great thanks ! 400 miles in 2 months Vs 2000, most of that was a weekend away just before lockdown. Also; pics from the first post at Southbourne Beach car park? I'm having the front bumper vinyl re wrapped next week as it's peeling away. One complaint I have about my car is the brake discs where they meet the wheels rust quite badly, even the new ones I had less than a year ago. The wheels show them off a fair bit. Weird as my FIL has an estate, different brake sizes but gets no rust.
Yes Southbourne car park, lovely beach and get less tourists than Bournemouth which is godawful.
1 year of ownership!
Nothing much to report, about to tick over to 80k so 9k complete in one year. Corona kept this down a bit which is good.
Recently picked up some Genuine Mercedes C204 roof bars from Facebook marketplace after looking for ages. The coupe came out in 2012 and was retired in 2014 so stuff like this is rare second hand. £90 instead of £250+ new!
Downside...only 1 key...upside by complete fluke it has the same key code as my Thule bike carriers to which I have many keys. What are the odds....
For anyone wondering. The roof bars are "Genuine Mercedes" but are made by Thule. This is awesome as they have such a variety of attachments that fit like a glove. Something I didn't know when I bought them.
Another small change fitted moments ago. The headlights were looking a touch yellow so I ordered some 'winpower' 6000k D1S bulbs from Amazon.
Nice touch, I looked like MJ whilst fitting.
They are more like 5000k pure white, no bad thing.
A great year of motoring and no plans to change anytime soon. Very pleased with my switch to Mercedes!

I had plenty of time so decided to push the cars MPG today on a couple of motorway trips.
First with the AC on, typically doing about 58mph (plus a section of 50mph average speed cameras and using cruise control :
Then on the return, focused on gentler acceleration, using hills to speed up and then let off uphill and turned the AC off.
Blown away by that. Yes it was slower than usual but I didn't hold anyone up and only added a few minutes on.
