Another Fiesta ST, now with added Audi S5
Discussion
Couple of other things that have occurred to me that are worth doing:
1) Getting a handbrake hole cover - drop something down there and it's an utter ballache to retrieve (I managed to drop the keys down there once)
2) Watch the aircon pipe on the driver's side of the engine - it rubs against another cable

Your ST looks great will bookmark.
Seems a trend here… I’m a 40 something i bought a one owner ST2 2013 (115k) as a weekend / track car and I have already had a great track day at Llandow last week, (only done a remap so far Superchip)
I am seriously thinking of selling my daily 8 month old MK 7.5 GTI and just keeping this as I now wfh,
Speaks volumes when you have the keys to a car that’s a 1/5 of the value I don’t hesitate and pick the ST.
After having cars such as 2009 CaymanS and 996’s previously I can honestly say this is the only car that has made me smile so much…
I can’t quite put my finger on it, I’ve had a 996 & a Boxster too, there’s just something fundamentally ‘feel good’ about it. Maybe it’s the fact it’s such a laugh for so little outlay (unless you are Jacko ), there’s no Porsche or BMW tax, easy to work on with sane parts prices, its easily daily’d, etc. Seems a trend here… I’m a 40 something i bought a one owner ST2 2013 (115k) as a weekend / track car and I have already had a great track day at Llandow last week, (only done a remap so far Superchip)

It’s a bit laddish, but I’m really happy with mine & would be very reluctant to shell out 20 or 30 grand on a car again TBH when this does everything I need it to do.

I wont get it back but have find memories of the process and am enjoying it, though I think the 2E is the sweet spot for power vs cost.
Its pretty much brand new in a lot of ways, only 38k, new intercooler, exhaust, turbo, tyres, intake, brakes etc, not too bad on insurance even when modded like that (£396) tax is £160 I think, it can do 45 to the gallon if you drive it normally.
Maybe some better dampers and bushings at some point, but for now will just crack on and drive it.
Thing is, these spoil you for other stuff as its so much fun relatively cheaply, so many owners trade up to something posher/faster/more expensive and then come back for another, as you know I came from an M135i, and I reckon I would have been gutted if I went the other way round.
I am for once, at peace with my car choice and am not scanning the classifieds for its replacement, would need to come into money and go for a 997 or similar as I dont think much else below that level would offer enough enjoyment to justify the extra cost..
Reckon these are destined to be quite collectable, people scoff at anyone saying that about something still current and around in big numbers but nobody was all that arsed about Escort Mexicos in the eighties, was just another rusty old relic but now a decent one is 25/30k. Says something when folk come from fast BMW's, Audis and the like back to the ST.
Rear sliders & brake fluid done.
Three of the four were fine & well lubed, however the bottom boot was split on the n/s, the slider was pretty much seized but managed to free it with a set of moleys.
The brake fluid had only done around 10k miles, but has been changed on the button every two years so good to keep that up.

Great shouts. I actually saw this post earlier & had a look - the pipe was rubbed through on the fabric protection wrapped round it, so I put some extra electrical tape on it. 1) Getting a handbrake hole cover - drop something down there and it's an utter ballache to retrieve (I managed to drop the keys down there once)

I’ve already done the hole of doom filling mod, well worth a tenner!
Here’s another - check your airbox screws. Mine were a bit rusty, I’ve heard of folk rounding them off & having a bit of a nightmare removing them. Three of mine were a bit crusty, so replaced them all with some M4 30mm from Screwfix.

Car looks awesome OP, I have just joined the over 40's ST club too, a 2013 ST2 in molten orange. Your thread and some of the mods have definitely got me planning and my bank balance suffering!
Love these little cars and there is so much you can do!
Nice one, welcome to the club! Love these little cars and there is so much you can do!
There’s a molten orange one quite near me, it really pops nicely in the sunlight, cracking colour.

Good call on the rear caliper sliders. I didn't know about that issue until I was replacing my discs and pads last year - THEN I found the rear sliders were a potential problem. There was water behind the gasket, which I cleaned out, cleaned the sliders off, and put a touch copper slip in there. The car's passed it's local MOT test since, and it's been checked in the service by the Stealer; the brakes function well.
I didn't realise the sliders were so cheap, so I might get hold of some and sort that out myself whilst the weather's good.

I also added new tailgate struts (EUR 15.56 for 2) as mine are slow and I've almost brained myself, TWICE, by leaning forwards before the tailgate's fully up (!!), and a cheeky K&N air filter, "coz induction noise"

Just ordered caliper sliders from Autodocc Germany (as I'm in Lux) for EUR 13.30 for both sides.

Out & about again this morning, this time up & over the Crow Road above Glasgow. It has a bit of an Alpine feel at times, with the added bonus of (mostly) good surfaces. Very little traffic either, probably more lone cyclists than anything.
Brakes a bit stinky by the bottom of the descent…..fantastic road

They really are ace, took a load of wardrobes to the tip in mine earlier, came back via the A34 bypass, minding my own and a MK7 Golf GTI appeared behind attached to my bumper, then wondered, at the next roundabout where I had gone
They’ll be easy meat for you now! Then I will find a tuned one and wonder whats up
They can go over 300 bhp with just a map I believe the Mk7's.
Need time to fit the rear axle bushings, but, am on decorating duty
Headed out for a wee drive with my youngest today. Ended up going past Knockhill (it’s a great road past the circuit) & struck gold when we stopped for a nosey & discovered a raft of supercars there & a couple of Ferrari’s on track.
Fiesta blending in effortlessly
A few random snaps with the wee man:
The visit ended in tears though as he was raging we couldn’t take the Fiesta on track

Gave the underside of the car a going over with Lanoguard ahead of winter today. The front subframe & rear beam were starting to get a tiny bit of surface scabbiness on them so thought I’d protect them ahead of another Scottish winter.
Used just under one litre, that’s probably with me going a bit OTT in places.

Kids on holiday this week, so my youngest was out helping me
Nothing much else to report, car running well!

Good call on the Lanoguard to ad a bit of extra protection . I use Waxoyl but may give this a try next time .
