warren walker from glos?
from the vag scene? if so hey mate, its shayne who bought the mk3 roll cage off you years back.
i must admit that, that m3 is drop dead gorgeous. do you want to swap a 1996 p plate 4.2 v8 cerbera for it?
Hey shayne hows it going mate? Was it that long ago! lol I take it you sold the golf then and upgraded slightly? from the vag scene? if so hey mate, its shayne who bought the mk3 roll cage off you years back.

Cheers for the comments fella. I knew these BMW's would be expensive compared to what im used to with modified Dubs but some things are just damn extortion. £180 + VAT for a front wheel bearing for example! Luckily theres an e28 wheel bearing thats exactly the same apart from the ABS ring for £60.
Its kind of a childhood dream to have one of these and i'm currently half way through some rather substantial engine work and ive spent a fortune on it- i dont think i'll ever sell.

Lovely example matep! I badly wanted one in white (its THE colour for an e30 M3) or red but struggled to find one as nice as the one i actually bought.Im sure if i had waited something would have come up but after over 6 weeks and still nothing, where this one was staring back at me for over two weeks i just couldnt resist. Especially as it had the carbon airbox and remapping by Paul Shephard and the Recaro SR's etc etc i thought id be able to leave it alone and save myself money by modifying a standard one. The cars felt unbelievable to drive- really free revving with bags of torque and completely different to the first two i'd driven. it turns out ive probably spent just as much as i would have if id bought a std one but unfortunately im bloody anal when it comes to these things.
That car will look awesome in the Warsteiner livery. Have you seen Vlad's e30 M3 which has the full livery? That car on RS's is just mind blowing.
if i had a car that looked as good as your m3 warren it would be summer use only and in the garage the rest of the time.
yeah sold the golf, hada mk4 anniversary rep, then a bmw e46 sport and not the cerbera. love the cerbera to bits but im always fond of a bit of eye candy.
you always seem to style your cars just right warren, a good eye to detail may i say. keep it up mate, georgeous car. keep the pictures roling tho as you were always shy with the photos back in the Vw day, we all want to se more.

Mines too, lovely motor mate.
Thanks for the love guys
Well after deciding getting the sport evo injectors and taking it to Paul Shephard i was told the unfortunate news that the engine was down on compression (paul checks everything before doing the tunnig runs) and suspicioins were pointed at the exhaust valves getting pinged by the pistons at some point.
Ive took the car to Grant Motorsport in Bristol and once apart we found a few little problems and some other info about the engine's condition. To spare you the boring details what started out at a minor head rebuild became a full bottom end and top end build. Heres some before pics;-
Grants was really helpful showing all the bits along the way showing me everything along the way. So money shots;-
Final spec;- (all rebuilt by Grant Motorsport in Bristol)
short ratio 3.64 LSD and Z4M bush kit
276/284 Shrick cams
Sport Evo green 330cc injectors
Sport Evo valve springs
Stage 3 Ported and polished head by Grant Motorsport
Wossner Forged pistons (oversized)
Wossner piston rings and gudgeon pins
(Compression raised from 10.5 to 11)
shot peaned rods
Sport Evo oil pump
complete new sputter bearing set for the bottom end
Baffled sump
new chain, guides, tensioner, radiator, oil pump chain, valves, gaskets, new alternator and poly bushes.
Mocal oil cooler and braided lines.
Any yellow stuff pads at the front (after chroninc brake fade after 1 high speed stop - eh Paul?! ;-))
Its been in for initial mapping with Paul and it made 270-275 @ 7800rpm with 200-205 ib/ft of torque. Im absolutely chuffed to bits to get it back on the road and its driving better than ever. Paul is adding some final touches to it as i did put him under a lot of pressure to get it all finished in a day because i was off the the 'Ring but as always he always gives 110%.
I then took it to the Nurburgring from the 17th to the 21st of September and managed 8 laps - obviously wasnt caning it because im a fanny when it comes to this car but i managed a 9:30 before my nerve gave in...
Now its back its at Pauls getting everything fine tuned to his high standard and hopefully ill have it back next week ready for the next phase
Once back home ive decided to give the paintwork a little spruce up over winter. Ive been thinking about it for a while but theres a few small patches of rust and a few shocking repairs paid for by the previous owner that have lasted a little over 2 years.... So rather than have little repairs done all over the car ive decided to get it done properly. Ive tried to sell my logic to to the other half - it aint happening... but im doing it anyway!!! (she'd never talk me out of it!
One last pic and a couple of videos after the mapping;-
