whats the limit as regards the block ? as the cooper S block is a better base and yet the same size as the cooper one, also if you can find a head or engine from one of the later 07 + mini cabriolets (still R50's at this point) then the heads are actually better built to with metal retainers instead of the plastic ones that the pre 07 cars had.

id also send the pistons, rings and rods off to nitrac for the freezing treatment as it makes them last a lot longer under race stress, same for the stock brake discs, i have my cheapy stock discs frozen as it makes them last a lot longer with the pads i use (carbotech XP8)

Its very restrictive. "The engines used in the Scottish Mini Cooper Cup 2010 must have all components as supplied by BMW and be "as cast" and completely standard in every respect except the cylinder head gasket face may be machined."

There are specifics relating to block thickness (head face to bed plate face) and head thickness and combustion chamber volume.

Just twigged you're the guy with the red Cooper with the wooden dash.

See on the weights front, you must be under 1100 with a fully stripped interior surely? With cage & extinguisher mine isnt even 990. I have to run extra fuel since I havent sorted ballast out yet and my 85kgs isnt enough on its own to get it to minimum weight (1075kg).
