But when you need those people with encyclopaedic knowledge of the parts catalogues and can memorise wiring diagrams and who have photographs of all the DIY maintenance jobs or those who are ace at sourcing parts you generally won't find them on PH.

I got these for ~£700, still got the originals on the shelf in the garage.
Well, you sir, officially a proper pistonhead now, by paying around £700 for the famous fried-eggs of 996 hehe

(pure kidding, god knows how much I've personally spent back in the time on my old 986...These cars are like Lindsay Lohan, dodgy celebrity but comes with the massive drama and unreliability.. laugh)

I got these from a chap on the Facebook group who was selling them to go back to amber lights - I had these painted.

Porsche never made Litronics in amber, so I had to be slightly inventive.

I've found these in a breaker at Istanbul last year. They are still selling, a pair of them cost 30 GBP. (Yep, only 30 GBP rolleyes)

That's about the point I'd get to and realise I have no idea what I'm doing and have to take the car to the Indy biggrin

Good luck!

Took it for a test drive with the door panel and whatever else still off the car to check for air leaks and wind noise and what not. There is some hissing at about 80 from where the triangle of the mirror meets the roof so i might need to tweak it some more. What do people think of the last pic there. Does the glass look to be in the right spot?

Looks OK to me... gap is about right, and about the same distance bottom to top.

Good job!

If I could find a measure to get the exact mm so people can tell me if it needs to move rearward a bit. Had a few close shaves where the door glass ed against the rear piece and I thought oh sheet.

When I locked myself out of mine I got my insurance company to agree to replace the NS door glass.

Auto windscreens came, broke the glass so I could get in and then replaced it. I did have a bit of wind whistle initially... thought about getting them back to adjust it, but it settled down after a couple of weeks and it's good as gold now.

It looks the same as mine ATM, but as mine was also replaced I don't know if it's lined up as Porsche intended - no wind noise from it, but if I have the window down then try to put it up above about 70-80, it whistles!
