Navigator in a DB5, how could I say no!

Life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop and look around once in a while you could miss it. Hence I now fully understand why people say experiences matter more than material possessions.

As lovely as the DB5 is, Glen Etive and Rannoch Moor will be amazing in any car. It’s the experiences and memories that count. Feel free to PM me if you have a free day next year!
Well said Ferris, yeah I’ll message you. I’m always serious about the things I say, so if you want to take a trip around the highlands in a DB5 then that’s what we’ll do.
Pete, there isn't enough "nice" in the world at the moment, but you are certainly doing your bit.
Hats off to you.

Had a good catch-up of this thread today, my birthday, and it's been a present in itself.

Thank you, and a happy and healthy 2018 to you and yours.

Pete.

Great thread Pete. Have also added you on Instagram (richatnort) would love to keep up to date with the garage updates.

Do you have any "I must have this car in 2018!" Thoughts yet?

If there was ever an hour video to be done by Harry Metcalf it's you, your story and your collection.

All the best and thanks for sharing so much on here.
Cracking idea, someone point Harry to this thread and get it organised. Would be a fantastic viewing!
Dropped him a tweet with a link to this thread.

It would be awesome to see him interview Peter and review some of the collection!
I’m more than happy to do a short video on my cars, if we can tie it in with a charity event then that’d be even better. Get more people to notice.

Thank you, I’ve added you on instagram too. Please feel free to have a poke around my garage on instagram.

My 2018 cars are going to be
1) Porsche 991 GT2 RS
2) Ferrari 488 lightweight
3) The newest McLaren LT!!! Whatever guise that’ll take.

Obviously it’s all personal preference but I think it looks awful. I’m sure it drives fantastic but it’s not all about performance. Look at the Gumpert Apollo, very fast but it looked like a Lego set hence why it didn’t sell well.

I’ve had my fill of modern supercars so I’m going more down the classic route.

Could be wrong but I don't think the 7x0LT is coming until 2019. I think there's a 5x0 LT coming in 2018 though, which is going to be spectacular!

No I think you’re bang on, I’ve been told it’s the 570 version first (probably 600lt) then the 720 version after the convertible 720. Either way, should be interesting.

Hi Pete
Just picked up on this thread & ended up reading from start to finish! Didn’t take me long to realise that you’re literally just around the corner; (recognised Steve’s RS) as well as all your fantastic cars that I see regularly passing by our front door.
Next time I see you, I’ll give you a wave
Cheers Graham.

Pete, thanks for your straightforward honesty and humility in this thread. I’m lucky enough to have my health and even moreso to welcome my first child into the world last week. Being a new parent makes ones head spin as you try and re-align what matters to you - as you’ve well articulated in your posts; and your candour has further helped me do the same - I’m genuinely grateful for that, and I hope I’ll be able to say that to you in person at some car thing or another in the near or distant future. All the very best.

Ah yes, with the beautiful red Macan too. Knock on next time you’re going past and have a poke around the DB5, she’s a beaut.

When you bring the DB5 north, it would be rude to pass up on the chance of taking in some of the lake districts beautiful roads and passes.
I would gladly volunteer for co driver for that!
