Just had a read of the blog. You really need to show the proper wheels on here. Those multispoke things are awful and I didn't realise they weren't the final choice until scouring the blog. Same with the interior.
The potential this thing has to be amazing is off the scale. I want to have not known about this until it's painted and visually finished and then read it all retrospectively ??
The wheels on it at the moment are rolling chassis wheel. I should have the new wheels back this week with the work done to them. So ill get a photo up when they are back and fitted. The potential this thing has to be amazing is off the scale. Also the dash/ interior will be a long time yet as I want to get the final design right with a rear view screen / camera combo.
I hope I have the car IVA approved for the road by mid September, into the bodyshop over the winter. Then carefully thinking about the interior design as the interior will be upholstered professionally then. A lot of work still but all part of the fun... (So te bank manager tells me)
So it was test run day, small video of a run testing brake bias... As you can see I had it set wrong

Top work, a truly massive milestone reached Can't wait to see it finished, what colour are you going for?
It was a bigger milestone then let on. Im actually not just first right hand drive, first in Europe but actually the first customer built car. I cant wait to get dug in to the next stage of making it look like it should.I want a n understated but good colour (i.e not grey!) also want to be able to repair if damaged, so Candy is out...Im thinking reanult flame red thats seen on new clio's one reason is its a colour ill of seen in the flesh and looks amazing!( i think)

Great work - and in such a short time. Well done. Don't want to unduly influence your colour choice (after all it is YOUR choice), but red is one of the worst colours for fading - look at most older red cars! I suspect this will be a car you'll keep a LONG time (understandably). If I'd built that I'd keep it for ever!
I know about the fading use to have an XR2i that was pink..sorry i mean red however this is a metalic, but with the amount of paint protection this thing will have it will be at least another 10mm wider. It will actually be treated to a ceramic coating developed by williams F1 which gives 5 years high protection. Also it will be garaged and only used 6 months of the year....and in 2 years time (If I still own it) I suspect ill wrap it another colour...for a change.
Received my reg plate. age related registration so I can add a personalised plate to give it more meaning. Although I wasn't against a Q it is nice not to get one.
Did the first drive tonight, felt a bit surreal after the time put into the car. Will do a few test drives over next week or two with it in its poor gel coat then off to bodyshop to have some tweaks and slight changes as well as have lines tidied up and finally sprayed.
Hopefully the car comes out like the car I want it to be. After driving it, the sense of speed is not something Else, but after so much effort it will be driven with care!

Small video, as it says found a small oil leak at the head gasket. Not causing major problems but not in me to ignore it at this stage so all back off again to see if its a case of two surfaces weren't clean enough or something else. Better to do it now before it heads into the bodyshop! Also I want to up the boost considerably so makes sense to have this solved.

Looks great, had to watch without sound so you my have already said, what are the plans for the headlight pods are the getting blended in?
No as the headlights themselves are adjusted and fitted behind the cover so id never easily get to them again. The covers will be fettled etc.... then hydro dipped like the wheels and the front spoiler will be as well. Hopefully a good contract against the colour of the car...I hope!Tiger Tim said:
When does it go to paint? I'm glad I watched the video as you covered the few bits I was a little worried about.
Good to know you have a staged plan. Thumbs up.
In to paint should be soon; but at the moment running through designs and ideas with the body shop to make sure the plan is clear before starting. I'd hope its in within a month with around 2 / 3 month turnaround is what i'm expecting.Good to know you have a staged plan. Thumbs up.
Was it the exhaust, rear lights and interior flagging up to you? (Please say no offense is taken - it is a kitcar after all and most seem to have 'quirky' bits)
Its been very hard to try and judge the look with no others to go off to see what they have done in regards to these bits. The american cars didn't even require a handbrake to be on the road so a fog light in Miami definitely wasn't required.

Having 'voted' to keep the curves (which I still adhere to) I think the wooden blocks add to it! The height that is - It looks good at the height the wooden blocks raise it to. Is it possible to extend the 'feet' to raise it? I know anything's possible, but how easy?
What's more likely is current legs removed and some universal metal ones fitted so it's adjustable and higher, also the legs will probably be moved closer together and spoiler done in the bodywork colour. A lot like the konnessiegs spoiler. If I can have the legs extended in fibreglass I will, but not really sure how viable that will be.
