This should be with me in the next day or so..

It's a replica of the V6 Trophy front splitter that will hopefully help to keep the car feeling planted, when up to 70mph, biggrin, the front can feel a little light.

Pic of a car with one fitted....

Also awaiting a price for an electrically operated plumbed in fire system, have a rough idea on cost and if the quote is similar to my rough idea it'll be done. Although I have a very good agreed value on the insurance, if the worst came to the worst and I got paid out I'd still have to try and find another good one.

It's getting there biggrin

The front splitter has now gone on, finishes the front of the car off perfectly.

The original fixing points where the original oem rubber jobbie was secured were reused, whilst it may get knocked off, one certainty is it isn't going to fall off biggrin

Think i may have seen this a few weeks back, on the a6 heading into Derby. Looked quality at the time.
Highly likely,

I live just off the A6 and it isn't a garage queen.

It's looking very likely that a major component manufacturer is going to do a feature / blog on the car....watch this space biggrin

Some pics here that have been sent to them,

No offence to any Ph2 owners however,

I prefer the Ph1 as I think the front end looks a little madder and for me, all it's inherent faults and idiosyncrasies add to it's character.

Toyed with the idea of fitting a half cage and harnesses, until I had a chat with Scott @ SG ( the guy who looks after it ).

He pointed out the downsides....awkward to get engine covers off, very fiddly to actually fit..quite time consuming which would lead to quite a bill for something that'd really be no more than decoration, engine covers having to be cut and if ever the car had to be returned to oem they aren't easy to find new ones, having to lose inertia seat belts so even going for a short run would mean wearing a harness...which would be a pain.

So when the car goes in for the fire stuff, he's also going to fit a set of Willans 4 point harnesses but still retaining the inertia belts, best of both worlds then.

No cage purchase plus fitting costs leaves a fair amount in the pot to go towards manifolds and cats, happy days biggrin

Well,

KW did their blog however, only on their German site.

Google translate sorts it out though, unfortunately it sorts it out as though it has been translated as part of a Monty Python on the gear sort of translation. An English version is awaited!

https://www.facebook.com/KWsuspensionsDE/posts/167...

Even if I can't understand it I'm still happy they did it....

Has anyone else had issues with postimg.org?

It went off line for up to 24hrs and all pics in various forums went with it. It's now back on line but unfortunately, said pics haven't reappeared.

Maybe a fair few build threads will have been affected?

Anyhow, car is in next week (at last, been a long wait) to have the extinguisher system and harnesses fitted..

...also KW did an English version of their blog on it...delighted with it. biggrin

Not been here for a while so, a few updates!

A little more work has been done to the interior i.e. Harnesses and plumbed in electrically operated fire extinguisher.

Lap straps are now through the holes in the seats.

Have been planning some sort of Euro trip for quite a few years now but stuff has always got in the way.....such as work! Now I'm retired what was to stop me?

5 cars headed to the 'Ring for 3 nights (no I didn't take the car on), 3 then headed back to the UK whilst 2 of us headed South, in fact as far South as Beatenburg in Switzerland. We drove the Simplon Pass which we had to reach via an interesting train ride with me amazed my front splitter survived and then dropped into Italy where we stopped at a restaurant for lunch which turned out to be the best meal of the trip!

Back into Switzerland and the Grand Saint Bernard Pass. Then we headed back into France and up to Reims with the "avoid toll routes" box ticked on the sat nav which led to some great roads. Visited the old GP buildings in Reims and the place felt so atmospheric it was unreal.

Temps were in the high 20s except for Italy where it was 32. Keeping in mind the car has the usual Clio aircon that isn't that great anyhow, when a lump of a V6 is more or less in the car with you the bedraggled look became the norm.

2200 miles in 7 days and, with 3 nights in Germany, most were done over 5 days it could have gone either of 2 ways....totally hate the car or totally love it.....option B for me. Not once did I think let me out of this bloody thing nor did I once dread getting back into. Apart from the rep Trophy rear spoiler shearing 3 of its 4 mounting points and ending up in the bin, the car never missed a beat. On the autobahn it hit an indicated 140mph which was enough for me thank you! It felt completely planted meaning the front splitter did its job as prior to that going on the front end used to feel very light if pushing on a bit.

Didn't bother with too many pics as the plan was to enjoy the drive.

The car will be undergoing some quite huge changes mid June which I'm looking forward to.

Isn't this retirement lark supposed to be boring with the highlight of the week a trip to Sainsburys?
