Is there such a thing as a supercharged Lupo GTI - could be an interesting project and provide a lot more power than a ported head/valves.
It’s been a done a few times before, never seem to work out very well and be reliable. You have to spend a lot of money on the engine to get anywhere near 200bhp.

The most recent upgrade is R32 wishbone bushes, they replace the standard Lupo bushes which are the ones with gaps in them. The R32 ones are a solid rubber. I also replaced the other wishbone bush whilst i was at it. New top mounts and bearing as well smile

I had the geometry done yesterday then went for a fairly long drive to see if i could feel a difference. First impressions is definitely more steering feel and the car feels better under braking. What i expected to happen!

I also booked a trackday for this Thursday (valentines day) at Snetterton smile

So I had the geometry setup again and the car was feeling amazing so it meant for only one thing. Book a trackday at Snetterton for the Thursday (Valentines) laugh The weather was absolutely perfect, and 12 degrees with the sun out and a perfectly dry track. The car felt absolutely incredible, keeping up with a lot of cars you wouldn't expect it to. The new bushes has definitely improved steering feel and initial turn in. The car was faultless, not a single issue all day, i was one of the last going round towards the end of the day despite doing over 50 laps already!

I'll leave some pictures and videos below if anyone is interested.

have you done anything (i may have missed it) to beef up the gearbox?
Appreciate that! It is really good fun, with it only weighting 930kg!

Gearbox is completely standard but it has been fully rebuilt smile

I really enjoy it, plenty of fast corners and plenty of run off if you do over do it!

Headed over to a mates the weekend as he had the scales out and i’ve always wondered what the Lupo weights exactly. 920kg! Quite pleased with that considering it is still a pretty much a full interior other than no rear seats.

Also put my Silver OZ Ultraleggera’s back on as i fancied a change👍🏼

Thanks! I think i’ll be getting a set in the future some time👍🏼

Yeah they really transformed the car, it was never that much of a revvy engine but it’s a completely different story now!

The latest little mod, fitted a 7 row oil cooler Saturday. The car has never struglled with heat but with two Nürburgring trips coming up in the summer I thought why not, better to be safe than sorry! I’m going to paint it Black as i’m not keen on the way it stands out behind the bumper.

Painted the oil cooler Black today as I didn’t like the Silver standing out through the grill. Also painted the crash bar whilst I had the paint out smile

No real big updates lately,

I fitted some Ferodo DS1.11's a week ago, after using the DS2500's with the standard calipers and always being pleased with them I thought i'd try the next step up and go for the 1.11's. First impressions are really good, even on the road. The initial bite is something i've never felt before in any car. The car weighing only 920kg obviously helps but they really do stop the car well now. I go to the Nurburgring on Easter weekend so only a few weeks away, they will get a proper test there!

Other than that i've just been enjoying the car in the nice weather recently. I'll leave some pictures below.

So, another set of wheels. I have been wanting these for a very long time. Enkei RPF1. They are currently grey but i will be changing them to Silver in the future. They came with new near Toyo T1R’s which I hate but i will run them for a few weeks before they come off. Well happy with how they look though!

Also, i go to the Nürburgring tomorrow! So i’ll update this after the trip!

Well I'm back from what can only be described as one of the best trips ever. The weather was perfect! I covered 1273 miles in total, 6 laps of the Ring and the car didn't miss a beat. It continues to amaze me and anyone else that comes in the car. Last year my best BTG was a 9.50 taking it fairly easy as I didn't know the track at all. This year, with the car feeling much more capable than last year I managed to get into the 8's with a 8.49! With a passenger and a couple of hold ups.

I say it to everyone who has never been to the Nurburgring, make it a priority as it is simply the best place in the world for petrol heads! It was extremely busy on the Friday as it was Car Freitag, but Saturday, Sunday and Monday were a bit quieter. Especially if you get to the track first thing.

I thought a few of you would spot me in Shmee's video, it was a very strange moment as I have been watching him for so long. Safe to say the Senna looked even better in person.

I also stopped at Circuit de Reims-Gueux as I was passing through from Paris, would of been rude not to get a few photo's!

I'll leave a few pictures below of the whole trip!

And save the best till last...

So I got the wheels back from Aerocoat after their fresh refurb, they turned out lovely. Coated them with Gtechniq C5 to keep them nice. Wrapped them in Michelin PS3’s to be my all year round tyre!

Got them on the car yesterday after it’s MOT which it passed. Safe to say I am over the moon with how good they look, let me know what you think! I’m still waiting on centre caps too arrive as well.

Latest little mod, DIY engine mount. The standard engine mount is oil filled and there is no aftermarket solution out there. I noticed mine felt a bit sloppy at the Ring so I thought i’d look into it, I purchased some Poly Resin, the same stuff the use to make engine mounts. Set about splitting the standard one open and draining all the oil out. I opted for the softer resin as I didn’t want it too stiff. But turns out even with the softest resin it is a LOT stiffer than standard! Instantly noticed a lot more vibrations ok start up, i’ve done over 200 miles the weekend and it’s definitely bedded in a bit and feels much better now. Engine noise inside the cabin has completely changed, sounds better. Gear changes feel even more precise. Overall, really happy with it! Painted the engine mounts and a couple of brackets as well to tidy it up a bit. I’ll leave some pictures below and some more pictures on the new wheels smile

My new favourite picture i’ve taken

Latest little mod - heel and toe pedal from thettshop.

Moves the accelerator pedal a bit closer to the brake pedal which definitely helps as the standard pedal lay out isn’t very nice for driving.

Welcome to the newest mod, this is something that has been in the pipeline for a really long time. A coolerworx short shifter! They would only make two as it wasn’t worth their time to do just one so I had to find someone else who wanted one which I did luckily!
It has really transformed the driving experience, bringing the shifter closer to the steering wheel is something the car has needed since fitting the Pole Positions. It feels incredible too, shifts are so short and crisp now. Let me know what you think, i’ve still got a bit of tidying up to do around the shifter but i’m happy with it.
