Think about rotating the top mounts while you're at it. For that extra caster.
A 24mm rear ARB from an S2 Rallye/GTI would be a nice upgrade as well.
Enjoy it.
I should have the new brakes, suspension and exhaust fitted to the car before the weekend.
In the meantime, the lure of new components remains strong and I managed to pick up a steering wheel over the weekend:
It's a 350mm Sparco steering wheel and benefits from a new alcantara re-trim by the guys at Royal Steering Wheels. I just need to get a boss now.

Great stuff Tom - your roads must be smoother than the ones around here!
I too have just returned from my summer Sunday mor ing hoon across the Devon countryside.
I run B8s & 155lb springs after finding the exact same setup you have a bit harsh in certain circumstances around here, although at times it is a bit soft on the front now which is a compromise I have to live with.
Nice wheel - smaller wheels deffo adds to the experience.
What you need is a diff! - it will be a Revelation!

ACE - The best value for money mod you can do, without a doubt.
I have 2 gearboxes both with diffs - 1xS1 Rallye and 1x1.4 Xsi, In both boxes I have a quaife. The quaife is a great road diff which once fitted you need some time to adjust your driving a bit as you can really slingshot yourself out of corners at speeds which previously you would’ve under steered off in a cloud of smoke - In a nut shell you can get your foot down much harder and much earlier than previously and it also transforms wet weather driving.
It can snatch a bit in a straight line under hard acceleration/shifting which can feel a bit like a mixed up torque steer and tram lining depending on the surface, not so bad on track - but as mentioned the roads I drive on are mostly terrible and I’m pushing 160bhp - a satchshift closes the gap between wheel and gearstick considerably.
I know you were thinking of bodies and I’m a fan of these too, But a diff is a much better pound for pound mod in my eyes even on a standard car especially with the S1 ratios - it’s a no brainer.

The Rallye has been SORN for a short while, but dropped her off for an MOT, service and a few small jobs this weekend.
I have loved Rallye ownership, but think I am about to say goodbye to the Rallye. Planning to replace it with a phase two Clio V6 for what remains of the British summer.
