I have a lasting memory of circling the high speed bowl in the 3rd lane ( others only allowed in lanes 1 & 2 ) at let's say a speed condusive to him being able to remove his hands from the wheel whilst the car tracked around rock solid by itself.
If that's the top lane it's 125 mph IIRC. I've been on there (and the alpine circuit etc) in a minibus and an Insignia pre-production car and it was fun then, I can't imagine how it'd be in something more exotic.little update.
Finally got the wheel refurbished but due to having a very small garage I can't remove all of the wheels in there so bought some Civic Hybrid wheels to fit temporarily. These were 15" and still fitted over the factory brakes (just).

They cost me £32 and I sold them for £20. result!
Here it is at Stony Stratford on New Years Day - it proved very popular.

I have been putting off a particular job for a while - there is a slight knock from the rear which is usually one of the balljoints. But you can't but just a balljoint, you have to buy the whole arm (or hub) which are around £1500. Yes, that is correct, £1500 for a wishbone.
As one of the CV boots had started leaking I decided it was time to get it all sorted so I have removed the hub and driveshaft to have a really good look / cleanup. As with most cars the ABS sensor is fitted in the hub, I tried to remove it but it was so brittle the little bugger broke. That's £400 please... Plus another few hundred for other parts at my local Honda dealer. Genuine CV boots cost over £100 each, good job the kit comes with everything, including a bottle of special custard.
Fortuitously, the knock turned out to be a loose bolt on the inner toe arm. I should've checked that months ago... Prices above are just for your info, I never expected it to be a cheap car to maintain & when I get a price it usually makes me chuckle as it is inevitably ridiculous. It is a fabulously well engineered car (just look at the CV joint pictures below - full of needle rollers - bonkers).

Posted before, but I'll say again, I love them. I'm Kicking myself as I seriously debated getting one some 6 years ago for around £20K. That ship's sailed!
It sure has! I couldn't afford to buy one now. They are as unpopular as ever though (compared to Porsche and Ferrari) so it seems peoples tastes haven't changed over the years, even if prices have.Stunning thing. Really is the perfect supercar.
Great to see it getting the love and attention it deserves.
Jap stuff is getting really crazy, prices of RX-7's have gone up 30% a year in Japan for the last two years.
Decided to jump in while I could still get one of my dream cars for something resembling sensible money. I've got a build threading running here...

If you really want a shock, have a look how much turbo Supra's are going for in the states, $100k in many cases

It's all back together now and no more knocking - result!
I haven't driven it for a while and it really is joyous, when changing from 3rd to 4th the noise from the exhaust something else. Its like a dog bark crossed with Pavarotti. And it just keeps on going, 4th gear feels really long and it just keeps revving and singing. As the revs rise you become aware of just how fast you are travelling but it builds so smoothly and comfortably. The ratios are spot on, 'apparently' it will do 80 in 2nd, 120 in 3rd and 145 in 4th at 8200rpm. It howls at high rpm...
