When you understand the level of engineering required to create these projects it is hard not to repeat the images!Forum etiquette...
As most of the rest of this website is dumbing down as the months go by (check out the Lounge for proof), then a thread that shows real home-spun engineering at a level that most can only aspire to should be celebrated.

So, lots of progress. After I mated up the C6 to the engine it was easy to fabricate a cross member for it, and then I lifted up the engine/tranny combo and rolled the chassis under it. Amazingly enough, the sub-frame fitted perfectly and it only took half an hour to get the power unit installed. This let me finish building the headers and exhaust system. I can run with or without silencers, having installed a cutout that dumps the noise out of each side side of the car. As you can see, I didn't go with the (IMHO) cliché of having exposed pipes coming through the bonnet - I wanted to be a bit more subtle. The exhausts are 4" tubing. The most exciting bit of work involved fitting the 21" wheel with Blockley tyres, all supplied by Richards Brothers in Cardiff. They did a magnificent job, and the 35" diameter tyre and wheel combo is in perfect proportion for the massive size of the car.
Next steps are to figure out some of the mechanical stuff for oil system etc, and then I'll blow everything apart so I can get the frame sandblasted, Then I'll paint it and re-assemble (hopefully for the last time!). My target is to have a drivable chassis by year-end, where I'll be able to chug around pissing-off the neighbours.
