Yeah, its a motorised time capsule, there will be a cool story for every car, especially Silver Shadows, I like to think of Peter Bowles types with a Cigar driving them, I bet all the original owners of these are long dead, my grandma had a German boss, she was a seamstress, he was very wealthy, live in Hale near Manchester and always had Rollers, he would collect his new one, and in the same visit, spec and order his next one for delivery in two years, used to take swatches of fabric to the Rolls dealer to match.- laughs out loud at Showaddywaddy.
Its funny, they seem a bit basic nowadays !
I don't get all the negativity. What an amazing project OP, no doubt will cost you a fair penny but I don't care.. I'm pleased there are passionate, car loving, talented amateur restorers like you around to keep us entertained. Just make sure you stick with it, and keep this thread updated regularly!
Good luck!
Good luck!

That is comprehensively ruined. You're mental. Fair play to you
Rinse & Repeat ..I love my old skool barges , but the Silver Shadow's potential bork factor scares me.
Your's is either an epic fk up of a buy.. or the start of something that may just be Epic.
Judging only on your posts's on this thread - i'm inclined to believe the latter .
Highly commendable of the OP for tackling this project. Don't be discouraged by anyone's negative opinions and please keep the thread updated with your findings / progress.
I took in a terminally rusty BMW 633 CSi at 22 yrs and was berated by most people who knew me for being bonkers taking it on. After a lot of pain it was returned to the road and so much learned along the way.
This shadow is technically complex however there is always a way and the experience will be invaluable whichever way the project goes.
Hats off to the OP and looking forward to reading more on this one

Some more of the pictures.
More rust action on the rear.
The worse part I found. Drivers door area, should be fun to fix.
As you can see the inner section is still solid though which helps greatly.
The plastic on the wood has all peeled off.
A early fuse box missing all the fuses I assume.
Opened easily which surprised me for a car sitting so long.
Bottles cracked.
Inner wings are solid which is a nice sign.
Less healthy looking.
Hydraulics are empty of fluid so assume theres a leak.
No water either.

I'd have a stab at getting the engine going first. If that is utterly borked (full of water, no oil, seized etc) then you'll need a donor and the donor may have a better body than this one.
Drop the oil, change the filter, put new oil in it and see if it spins on the starter. Then see if it builds oil pressure. Then get the sparks working and add fuel. The SUs will probably be fine as long as there was oil in the dampers.
If the engine works, then you are in with a chance!
