Audi TTRS - owning and modifying experience
Discussion
Hi Guys,
After some advice... I have owned my TTRS Plus for about 10 months now and had always planned to remap. I'm after some advice from anyone who has done it. I want to remap and potentially pop a millet exhaust on as well. I want to improve the sound of the car, but at the same time i don't it be be ridiculous when I'm ticking over sitting at the lights etc etc.. I spoke to a garage and they recommended a remap, secondary CAT delete and uprate the intercooler (apparently the remap makes the car run at high temps due to the boost), the guy said this will give good power gains and increase the note of the exhaust slightly.. Has anyone done this? Basically I'm kinda confused what to do now and any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!!

The standard intercooler heat soaks pretty quickly when the car’s been mapped, it certainly won’t be able to sustain the power for extended hard use.
For a stage one map for normal road use I’d agree it’s not too much of a concern, especially if the budget is tight, as the ECU will just pull the power back when the inlet temps get too high.
To make the most of it I think personally I’d go for the intercooler but it’s something you can always add later if you feel you need it.

This ^ Not much point paying for a map if the ECU’s going to pull the timing every time things get a little toasty under the bonnet. The standard downpipe is restrictive too.
