Yikes that’s quick! Is it as quiet as it sounds in the video?
No it's really loud due to sound deadening being removed, i need to try and find a decent sound recording device.

This is where it settles. Will get looking for a new sump ready to be baffled.

Found out what could be causing the dodgy idle; there appears to be a crack in the inlet manifold, so will get this welded up alongside the sump.

It has misfired once quite badly.

Not driving it at all until I take it to my mechanic.

No it didn't struggle to make boost surprisingly.

I'm just glad I've found these issues so early on as I want to keep it long term.

Looking at getting a daily driver. Top of my list is a Skoda Octavia 1.6 diesel estate. Incredible economy and would be lovely not to rely on the Saab for daily duties.

Not sure if it'd be strong enough to tow the 9k to the Nurburgring though, for example.

yeah d/d is a good call -no biggie if you need to do little bits and bobs -easy to do £50 in juice in a day or two in the saab lol ...

when you drop your car off ,get your man to go over the car top to bottom-always good to find any little niggles while its up on a ramp(funds permitting), saves lots of time waiting for the AA at the side of the road imo (and beleive me i know lolll)-

ps when is my passenger ride biggrin

I would go for the 2.0. The 1.6 is good around town but the 2.0 often delivers better fuel economy at speed and is a far nicer engine. Also in mixed driving I got less MPG than the 2.0 engine and think the stated figures are nonsense.

I think a normal daily driver makes a lot of sense when the Saab is so highly tuned.

True that. As you're down south will have to get to Santa Pod once all this is sorted and you can have a spin. I reckon you'll have 2-3 seconds on this over the quarter, and a working gearbox at then end of the day!

Good call, some amazing deals out there on these.

This one with the posh L&K interior has done 100k miles; barely ran in for these and only £695:

Found a mint brake light lense to replace the current cracked one:

Picking up a mint rear left door on Saturday, feel like Mike Brewer, a proper wheeler dealer laugh

I like that! Right up my street smile Would standard wheels fit over the brakes? Also, I think you should remove the silly tow strap... You'll be annoying a lot of people with 'better' cars in the traffic light grand prix or slip road races!
Tow strap and stickers removed drink, next job is to spray callipers black.

Further adhering to its 'sleeper' credentials, the 9k has an Abbott Racing triangulated rear strut brace, subtly nested out of sight, which I guess helps with handling (it does handle like a go-kart).

Few teething issues:

- Revs have started pulsating from idle to 1300 rpm, up and down about 20 times then the revs hold at 2,500 rpm. The ECU must be up to something or could this be an air leak? Griffin Dai I'd be interested to hear if you've had similar issues and would like to know who mapped your 9k; was it Faero also?
Sorry fella just catching up on this. Yeah Faero did all the mapping on mine (stage 4/5/6 and a quick live mapping which gave it a little more sparkle) Brought the 60-100 down from 4.3 to 3.8s with 10% thinners in the mix smile Definitely worth giving him a shout when it’s all sorted and pay for a live map if he still does it. He spent hours & hours perfecting the gt30 map (he’s st hot at it) wink

You’ve found he fault now but mine always had an erratic idle after fitting the 630’s. Was fine with the GG’s. Mine was also a TCS car and that failed once, that was undrivable when it went, idled from around 600-2000rpm and had no drive between here.

I'm surprised you weren't running 875 injectors at that power level. What do 630s flow to?

They’re good for around 500bhp mate, I think a couple are running a tad over 500 on these.

I did buy some RC750’s for it ready for another turbo upgrade to the GT35 or Holset Super HX40 but decided to scrap the car in the end. Would have been a monster with the hx40 smile

Injector Dynamics are meant to be good but pretty expensive. 630’s are nice & cheap wink

If you're running 630s you aren't pushing out 500bhp that's for sure.

The grip issues in first and second can be tamed by fitting a gear dependent boost controller perhaps?

Thats true, different engine but around 75% duty cycle on a proven 510bhp 4cylinder engine on 1000cc injectors. Could lean on it a bit more, but i like em a tad rich. Rc injectors have a crap spray pattern, they just dump the fuel in rather than a fine mist that ID injectors spray. Boost by gear is a must in a big power fwd car
